The value packed 21-foot Yamaha 210 Series provides more space, more features, sporty updated looks, more storage and greater performance than competitive models in its class. The sport SX210 and watersports AR210 feature long and wide bow seating, a well-appointed helm area, cavernous storage areas, plenty of drink holders, and an overall look that is more luxurious than models of the same price point.
Innovative Deck Design
The bow and cockpit of the 210 Series is roomy and easy to navigate with a full crew on board, giving the 210 Series the look and feel of a much larger boat.
The bow is wide and long to better accommodate more passengers and the seating can be rearranged several innovative ways depending on cushion placement. The 210 Series comes with Yamaha exclusive front-facing “rumble” seats that are a favorite with kids. The anchor/ladder locker is quite large, making access to the anchor and ladder more convenient. Finishing the bow are two stereo speakers and two cup holders.
Featured in the cockpit area is a huge port console locker and massive under seat storage. These high capacity compartments are large enough to store a full-size cooler, several PFDs and much more.
In addition, there is an extra large floor storage compartment perfect for storing wakeboards, skis, ropes, PFDs, and dock bumpers.
The sporty helm layout includes large analog gauges and integrated digital information displays that provide independently controlled access to a wide range of information. Also at the helm is Yamaha’s No Wake Mode™ that allows the driver to easily set an optimal speed for navigating a no wake zone.
Completing the helm area is a comfortable, adjustable Captain’s Chair with a flip-up bolster, a premium sound system with a remote at the stern and 4 speakers, and cup holders that are positioned throughout the cockpit. The AR210 comes with a fold-down aluminum watersport tower that makes storage more convenient and the SX210 now comes with dual Captain’s Chairs.
Award-Winning Stern Lounge Area
The two-tier stern lounge area and swim platform of the 210 Series is spacious and lower to the water than any other boat in its class, making the stern area a great place to hang out when anchored in your favorite cove. The stern lounge area includes a mount for the 210’s dinette table, a rear stereo remote, padded back rests, hydro-turf® deck mats, cup holders and a reboarding ladder. There’s even a wet storage locker where wet ropes or small inflatables can be stored without having to carry them through the boat.
Yamaha’s Signature Drive Train and Engine Package
The key feature that has the 210 Series outperforming its competition is Yamaha’s unique internal drive system that utilizes a lightweight, compact engine package and a simple design to deliver better performance and more peace of mind than traditional stern drive models. Yamaha’s ultra-responsive internal drive system brings the 210 Series on plane faster and accelerates quicker than comparable stern drive boats.
The 210’s dual throttles allow for maximum maneuverability and engine control, while the shallow draft and enclosed impellers increase the boat’s versatility.
Yamaha’s twin engines require regular unleaded fuel and use an average of two gallons of fuel less per hour than comparable stern drive boats.
A recent addition to all Yamaha boats is a thrust directional enhancer that maximizes control and maneuverability. The thrust directional enhancer directs the water flow at an optimum angle, creating more responsive handling as the boat is turned right and left at slow speeds.
Standard Features:
• Twin Yamaha marine engines that lead the industry in fuel efficiency and cruising range, while delivering class-leading performance, reliability, and durability.
• Yamaha’s No Wake Mode

Boattest.com Review
Overview
The Yamaha AR210 is a 21-foot boat designed as an affordable package tailored for water sports enthusiasts. Its twin model, the SX210, shares similar dimensions but lacks the water sports tower. The AR210 measures 21 feet 4 inches in length overall with a beam of 8 feet 6 inches and benefits from a shallow draft of only 15 inches due to its jet drive system. This configuration aims to maximize interior space and provide excellent maneuverability and stability on the water.
Exterior Design and Deck Layout
The hull of the AR210 features a deep V design with dual lifting strakes leading to a reverse chine that transitions into a hard chine acting as a spray rail. This hull form contributes to the boat's impressive turning performance and stability. The beam is carried well forward, enhancing both interior and bow space. At the bow, there is a spacious seating area with 29 inches between cushions, which can be converted into a sun pad using filler cushions or rearranged to create forward-facing seating for three. A four-step reboarding ladder extends down to the beach, and the anchor locker is designed with locking and notched features to secure the anchor rope while closed. The stern includes three-across seating without an engine box, made possible by the low-profile Yamaha engines, and a two-level aft patio with non-skid surfaces, a table base, stereo remote, and drink holders. The lower swim platform sits close to the water, providing an ideal staging area for water sports, complete with a three-step reboarding ladder and grab handles.
Helm and Cockpit Features
The helm area is thoughtfully designed with a bucket seat that swivels, slides, and includes a flip-up bolster for enhanced visibility. The dashboard is well laid out, featuring two tachometers flanking a speedometer, with embedded multi-function gauges for monitoring various parameters. Controls such as the ignition and blower are conveniently positioned, and the stereo system is integrated with a 12-volt power supply and MP3 port. Engine controls are mounted at a comfortable 45-degree angle, optimized for seated operation. The cockpit offers a roomy J-shaped seating arrangement with 37 inches of space between seats and protective height ranging from 28 inches forward, making it suitable for observers during water sports activities.
Power and Performance
Powered by twin 1052cc four-stroke, four-cylinder Yamaha engines, the AR210 delivers exhilarating handling and performance. The jet drive system provides a draft of only 15 inches and features a new thrust deflection mechanism that improves low-speed maneuverability by slightly deflecting thrust downward at idle and first detent positions. Steering responsiveness is directly related to thrust, with brisk handling at high RPMs and enhanced control at low speeds when applying bursts of power during turns. The boat exhibits minimal bow rise—approximately three to five degrees—during acceleration, maintaining excellent forward visibility. Single-engine operation is sufficient for cruising at 25 miles per hour, providing reliable performance for returning to shore if necessary.
Additional Features and Safety
The AR210 includes several user-friendly features such as a molded contour line on the topsides that adds visual interest and structural definition. The aft patio hatch provides access to clean-out ports for clearing grass or debris from the impellers without entering the water, with safety cut-off switches that kill the engines when the hatch is open. Standard equipment includes tilt steering, dual bucket seats, snap-in carpeting, a bimini top, a wakeboard tower (on the AR model), and a stereo system. Remarkably, all these features come standard with the 210 series, including a color-matched painted trailer, underscoring Yamaha's commitment to delivering a comprehensive package.
Conclusion
The Yamaha AR210 is a well-designed, versatile boat that combines excellent handling, a spacious and functional layout, and a suite of standard features tailored for water sports enthusiasts. Its shallow draft, powerful twin engines, and innovative jet drive enhancements provide both performance and maneuverability, while the thoughtful deck and helm arrangements offer comfort and convenience. Overall, the AR210 represents a compelling option in the 21-foot category for those seeking an affordable, ready-to-go watersports boat.
