GRAND ILLUSION is a west coast legend, an exceptional Santa Cruz 70 always maintained to the highest standards. Keel, rudder, mast, rigging, sails and safety equipment have been upgraded. Grand Illusion has competed in 18 Transpacs, more than any other boat in history and won first overall three times, in addition to several other podium finishes in class. She has also sailed and trophied in numerous Mexico and other offshore races.
The carbon mast and custom appendages enhance performance, while a full inventory of current racing sails and electronics keeps the yacht competitive. A new Starlink system is installed for offshore communication, and a dedicated shipping container of spare sails, rigging, and parts is included for full campaign support.
The interior is designed around offshore functionality. The galley is located port side; opposite is raised dining table with L shaped seating. A sleeping berth is outside of the seating area. Four adjustable berths are located port side aft and one adjustable berth port side forward. There is a double berth starboard side aft, two adjustable berths starboard side aft, and one adjustable berth starboard side forward. Enclosed head is forward port side
