The S-2 7.9 has multiple reputations of good quality with excellent fiberglass tooling and fast sailing in a winning design that can not only be trailered, but also launched and retrieved easily on most any ramp because of her lift keel and, in addition, she has enough interior space to house a crew or family for regatta over-nighting or family weekending. Below she has berths for 4 and a head compartment that is private enough where you don't have to wake anyone or kick anyone out of the cabin for privacy. 2 owners. Fresh water only.
Designed by Graham & Schlageter, this 26-footer was one of the very popular Grand Slam models of which this was the largest trailerable offered with a lifting keel which made launching and retrieving a breeze on most any launch ramp. The Grand Slam boats were known for their combination of stunning performance, yet could sleep a crew while away at regattas, or for weekend cruising. She has a fractional sail plan set on a hinged deck-stepped mast. The daggerboard keel is controlled with a winch on deck and 4:1 or 3:1 mechanical advantage to help manage raising or lowering the keel. Most were offered with outboards and some were offered with diesel Yanmar inboards or BMW inboards, of which the is the outboard version. Below she sleeps a crew or family of 4 in a cabin with 5'2" max headroom. The head is neatly hidden for privacy next to the keel trunk on the starboard side. On the other side of the keel trunk is the galley area. There are many one design classes nation wide, which attests to her popularity. Yet, some have just purchased them for day sailing in a boat of which, because of her lively performance, will not disappoint. The boat has been regularly maintained and all systems work. 2 owners. Fresh water only.
