You cannot get more traditional lines than on this 1993 30’ Rosborough Destiny Ketch. This was the last wood vessel Rosborough ever built before moving to fiberglass hulls. Built by Rosborough Boats up in Murphy’s Cove, Nova Scotia and the last one after 150 others were built starting in the 1940’s. The current owner sailed “Annie Laurie” from Halifax, Nova Scotia to Ft. Lauderdale, sometimes single handling and other times with crew. She has made many upgrades over the last 9 years and has had her bottom painted every year since purchase with no worm problems. The boat has been in brackish water most of her life and she shows in very good condition. This ketch sleeps 4 owners and guests on 1 double berth and 2 single berths. She has refrigeration, autopilot, air conditioning, opening ports and hatches, a large head area with new toilet and loads of storage capacity. Her teak and holly sole was recently varnished and has opening floor hatches to access the bilge. Her engine access is on 3 sides and runs great with only 2400 hours. She sports a rebuilt transmission and fuel pump, cabin heater, wheel steering, wide open cockpit and proper ground tackle. This sailing machine just returned from a 2 month cruise to the Bahamas and the owner has decided to move up in size. Spacious Interior: This model features a well-designed interior layout, offering ample living and storage space. The combination of a comfortable saloon and practical galley makes it suitable for extended cruising or family trips.

Versatile Sail Configuration: The ketch rigging allows for greater versatility in sail management, making it easier to handle the boat in diverse wind conditions. This rigging style provides better balance and can enhance sailing performance.

Stable Performance: With its design and weight distribution, the Destiny Ketch offers a stable sailing experience, which is particularly advantageous for those new to sailing or looking for smoother rides.

Good Resale Value: Rosborough boats tend to maintain their value well due to their reputation for quality and the demand among sailing enthusiasts, making them a wise investment.

Cons

Maintenance Requirements: As with many boats, the Rosborough Destiny Ketch requires regular maintenance to keep it in optimal condition. This includes routine checks on rigging, sails, and the engine.

Older Technology: Being a model from 1993, some features may be outdated compared to modern sailing vessels. Upgrading certain systems may be necessary for those seeking the latest technology in navigational aids or comforts.

Weight: While the sturdy construction is a pro, it can also make the boat heavier than comparable models, which may impact performance in lighter wind conditions or when quick maneuverability is needed.

Limited Speed: With its design focused more on stability and comfort, the Rosborough Destiny Ketch may not be the fastest sailboat for racing enthusiasts or those prioritizing speed over leisurely cruising.

Draft Considerations: The draft of the Ketch may limit access to shallow waters and certain harbors, which can be a consideration for those interested in exploring close coastal areas or inlets. ### Conclusion The 1993 Rosborough Destiny Ketch is a robust sailing vessel that excels in stability and comfort, making it a great choice for family cruising and leisurely sailing adventures. However, prospective buyers should weigh the maintenance and potential need for upgrades against the vessel’s strong resale value and overall reliability.
