The Pearson name has been in yachting starting way back in the 1960's. They were known for their sail boats, motor yachts, and convertibles. They ended their run in 1991.
In 2002 the New Pearson Yachts began with the introduction of the True North 38. This is a family cruiser that was inspired by the ever so popular Down East New England lobster boats. She is a quality built boat and has distinctive lines. The reverse transom with opening transom doors is unique. She carries a taper forward to a wide 13'6" beam amid ship to a deep fore front bow. The rudder is attached to a full skeg which protects the prop and a bow thruster is standard. The cockpit is huge with seating on both sides. Two of the seats can be moved to the transom for a wrap-around seating arrangement. Forward through the optional hard back enclosure is a very well appointed salon and galley. The windows all around offer great visibility for both the captain and crew. Down below is a spacious head and a large V-berth with plenty of locker storage too. With a single Yanmar 480 she cruises at 20 knots and at a great angle for a smooth comfortable ride.
