The PS-31 is the baby of the revered Pacific Seacraft
line. While a very traditional boat by any other standard,
she is a bit of a departure from the rest of the Pacific
Seacraft line. The 31 is the only boat in the line without
the signature canoe stern. With a 9?-10? beam the boat
is still slender, while the additional beam aft and transom
stern allows for a roomy quarterberth and ample cockpit
storage. Relatively long overhangs and a graceful sheer
leave no doubt of this boats lineage, but her beauty goes
far beneath the skin.
Like all Pacific Seacraft boats the construction details
of the PS-31 are excellent. The hull is hand-laid solid
fiberglass built of 100% vinylester resin and reinforced
with Kevlar. A modified fin keel and skeg hung rudder
make for an efficient and tough underbody. The hull to
deck joint is tops in the industry, having proven the test
of many years of ocean passages. The structural interior
module is painstakingly bonded to the hull, eliminating
the unnerving creaks and groans that plague typical
fiberglass boats.
Topside, the 31 boasts wide side decks with bulwarks
for safety and comfort. The standard two tone deck has
an elegant feel. Harken manufactures all of the deck gear
and winches in their stainless ESP series including some
custom blocks and travellers. Charleston Spar provides
the custom welded powder coated mast and boom. The
helms and instrument pods are from Edson.
The 31 comes standard with an exterior teak package
that includes teak caprails, handrails, dorade boxes,
eyebrow, rubrail, and sliding hatch. The boat is also
available in a low maintenance package with aluminum
toerails, stainless handrails, and a fiberglass sliding hatch.
Like her big sisters, the 31 is extremely well balanced
making her an easy boat to singlehand. The boat comes
standard with deck hardware for the cutter rig, but can
also be rigged as a sloop. The 31 is equally at home
crossing oceans or afternoon daysailing with family
thanks to the perfect balance of performance and stability.
The shoal draft keel option boasts a draft of only 4?-0?
allowing for virtually unlimited gunkholing.
Where the 31 really shines is in her functional and
beautiful Joseph Artese designed interior. The 31 has an
open layout with a double v-berth forward and double
quarterberth aft. The two settee benches also convert to
cozy seaberths. Interior joinery and woodwork is to the

high standard that customers have come to expect from
the craftsmen at Pacific Seacraft. The unique galley
table slides neatly beneath the forward berth leaving
an open and inviting area for lounging and socializing.
An efficient galley boasts Corian countertops with
undermount stainless sinks and a two burner stainless
Force 10 stove and oven. The head aft to starboard is
roomy and efficiently positioned for passagemaking. The
hinged engine box under the companionway stairs opens
for full 360-degree engine access.
