Built by Olsen Shipyard, Denmark in 2001, ISABEL is a 72' performance cruising sailing yacht designed by German naval architect Georg Nissen. Her profile draws from classic J-Class yachts, including Endeavour, with long overhangs, a low sheer and traditional proportions, while her Kevlar and epoxy composite construction, tall rig and hydraulic lifting bulb keel with wings provide a modern sailing platform.
Designed for short-handed sailing, ISABEL has powered Andersen winches, hydraulic headsail furling, hydraulic vang and backstay systems, a Hall Spars carbon mast and carbon Park Avenue boom. Her hydraulic lifting keel draws approximately 12'9" when lowered and 7'5" when raised. Under power, she has a 160-hp Deutz diesel engine, Gori three-blade feathering propeller and retractable bow and stern thrusters.
A major refit in 2025 included refinished Flag Blue topsides, a stripped, faired and refinished bottom, exterior brightwork finished with eight coats of varnish, new North Sails, and new running and cockpit rigging. Cruising equipment includes a generator, watermaker, Starlink, new Raymarine electronics, radar and autopilot.
