The Ocean Yachts 40'+2 Trawler is a semi-displacement long range trawler capable of 1000nm range. With her 12'6" bridge clearance (mast down, to top of bridge windscreen), twin Perkins 165hp diesel engines, two bed two head galley up layout, she is a strong candidate for the Great Loop.
The +2 in the boat's name accounts for the two additional feet incorporated in the overhanging stern/swim platform, which is an integral part of the hull. This appendage is so shaped and faired as to keep the stern from squatting, to knock down the wake, and increase buoyancy aft for improved performance in a following sea condition.
With that said, coastal and bay cruising are a part of her portfolio as well.
