Overview
The Nimbus T11 is a 40-foot cruiser designed with a strong emphasis on maximizing convertibility and efficient use of space. Its design caters to versatile social and recreational activities, making it suitable for family outings, fishing, and entertaining. The boat features twin Mercury Verado engines, with options ranging from 300 to 400 horsepower, delivering solid performance and handling.
Exterior Design and Cockpit
The cockpit area of the Nimbus T11 is exceptionally versatile, featuring multiple seating configurations that can be adapted for cruising, socializing, alfresco dining, fishing, or sunbathing. The seats can be arranged to face forward, face each other for conversation, form a C-shaped dining area, or be converted into a sunbed. Storage is abundant, including dedicated drawers for tableware beneath the seats and large compartments under the deck, sunpad, and seats for fenders and other gear. Safety is well considered, with substantial bulwarks rising between 29 and 35 inches and sturdy handrails. An optional X-edition package enhances the seating with Alcantara suede upholstery and engine cowling highlights. A sunshade can be erected using four stanchion sockets attached to the hardtop, providing shade over the cockpit and bow areas. The refreshment station includes a sink and a configurable grill (electric or propane), with soft-close storage drawers and refrigerated drawers customizable as fridge or freezer units. The bow offers additional social seating with secured sunpads that can be adjusted into lounge positions, grab rails, beverage holders, and a table option with cushions for all-around seating. The foredeck includes 12-inch cleats, an open bow rail plan for boarding, a windlass with a safety chain, and a through-stem anchor roller.
Helm and Navigation
The helm station is starboard-mounted and equipped with dual 12-inch Simrad NSS Evo 3 displays capable of showing multiple screens, a vessel view display, and a comprehensive electrical switch panel. Controls include a JPO joystick, digital throttle and shift, ZipWake trim tab controller, and a remote for the searchlight. The steering wheel is mounted on a tilt base, and the helm seats adjust fore and aft. Additional features include beverage holders, a deep cubby for storage, stereo remote control, molded footrests for observer seats, and sturdy grab rails on both sides. A frost fence protects the dash area, and the hardtop perimeter is fitted with tracks to allow enclosure for three-season boating.
Interior Living Spaces
Accessed via an offset companionway to the port side of the helm, the cabin offers nearly six feet of headroom with a bright, satin-finished interior that benefits from natural light. Storage is plentiful, including a large cabinet on the port side that can be outfitted with a refrigerator. The electrical panel is conveniently located within the cabin. Climate control options include air conditioning and a diesel-fired heater, enhancing comfort in various conditions.
Private Accommodations
The mid-cabin features a berth measuring 78 by 48 inches with 19 inches of overhead clearance, complemented by narrow and deep storage compartments and mechanical access panels. A full-length mirror is mounted on the door, and additional storage alongside the berth could be further optimized for personal items. The head compartment is notable for its separate shower area with a curved acrylic door, an electric flush toilet, a Corian countertop with a stainless steel sink, and a lengthy hull-side window. Forward is the V-berth, measuring 77 by 53 inches at its widest point and tapering to 35 inches at the lowest height. It includes opening port lights on both sides, large hull-side windows, a mirror, and extensive storage beneath and behind the seating. Privacy is maintained with a curtain that can close off the forward cabin area.
