Efficient, elegant and comfortable, this Tom Fexas design boasts brisk cruising speeds plus trawler like efficiency embodied in a distinct yet classic “Rum Runner” style. The long, narrow, rounded-chine hull form is easily driven to over 25 knots with relatively small 315 HP Yanmars (repowered in 2006). She can effortlessly cruise at 23-24 knots sipping only 16 gallons per hour. The “¾” keel stabilizes the yacht and protects the running gear, and the fine “clipper” bow slices through the sea and chop for a remarkably smooth and enjoyable ride.

This particular Midnight Lace stands apart from her sister ships for several reasons. She was built as a “Show Boat” for the 1984 US east coast boat show circuit and of the dozen or so in the US she is the only one with full navigation controls in the unique forward cockpit. Piloting the yacht from this forward position is not only an exhilarating “wind through your hair” experience but it also offers unencumbered sight lines and easy access to your ground tackle in single handed anchoring situations. After winning much critical acclaim during her boat show season her original buyer took her to Lake Michigan where she spent her first twenty summers plying the friendly fresh waters of Sturgeon Bay and comfortable winters in heated dry storage. In 2006 she received her new Yanmar engines and ZF transmissions and was relocated to Seattle’s urban wonder, Lake Union, where she has continued to enjoy fresh water moorage and loving care by her current owner. Numerous upgrades have been made to enhance and modernize the experience aboard without spoiling the “classic collectable” air of the yacht. New Awl Grip paint, all new glass windows and new galley and laundry appliances and are just some of the many resent improvements. She’s a real “head turner”, a great performer and a super fun cruiser. See the Full Specifications and visit “PrettyWomanSeattle” online for addition details.
