The MasterCraft ProStar 197 provides a happy medium between bigger bows and bobbing ski buoys. With the ProStar 197 passengers can enjoy spacious open bow cruises and silky smooth slalom passes all in the same boat. MasterCraft bowed to the 190 EVO and crafted its hull on the 197, embracing the tournament-inspired platform. It's a little longer, a little wider and much roomier than the boat it replaces - the 195 - to satisfy the discriminating desires of ski enthusiasts who want it all. The ProStar 197 has more walk-through room and includes a flip-out observer's seat that allows passengers easy access to and from the open bow, while spoiling riders with added accommodations. The 197's interior has spacious seating (the passenger seat accommodates two full-sized adults), expansive storage compartments, an optional Clarion CD sound system, and a removable rear bench that converts to a lazy sunpad. The 197 also has room for some concealed colas in a conveniently located dual-access cooler, accessible from either the bow or cockpit. The 197 utilizes a Digital Speed Indicator (DSI) under-hull paddlewheel design that provides the driver with quicker, more accurate responses in 10th-of-a-mph digital increments. Unlike regular pilot pickups, this technology is unaffected by weather factors and less prone to failure. The 197 also sports an enlarged swim platform with an optional transom saver and stereo remote for kicks.
