The Hunter 260 is a water ballasted sailing vessel that can be trailered down the road with a smaller tow vehicle because 2,000 lbs of the ballast goes into the hull after the boat is launched and is jettisoned when the boat is removed at the ramp. With water ballast and a centerboard, she offers stability under sail while maintaining shallow-draft access. The Hunter 260 stand out for sailors who want low maintenance, high versatility and easy handling. Her systems are simple and her interior is super comfortable accommodating sleeping for 4. Her head is completely enclosed for privacy. Mostly Harmless's new UK sails are crisp and fast and the boat is set up for effortless single-handed sailing. She can be easily rigged and launched right off of her trailer which is capable of long hauls. Her history has always been in fresh water. She has spent most of her life in Lake Superior but, the second owner moved her to Mille Lacs Lake. The current owner is the third and in 2024 he invested heavily in reliability and cosmetic improvements. The boat was trailered to Arizona for the 2024-25 winter season, but not before full road-worthiness maintenance to include new bearings, brakes, tires & spares. In 2025 she was sailed on Lake Minnetonka and was raced in a MORC fleet (even in single-handed races). That is when the new sails were employed. Now the boat is located in Bayfield WI on her trailer just 600 feet from the launch ramp ready for cruising the Apostle Islands.
