The surveyor found excessive moisture readings in stringers and bulkheads and some soft areas in decking. A reevaluation was performed later, and that surveyor has opined that the moisture issue arose as a result of the significant rain water that collected in the engine room during Hurricane Ian when the cockpit drains clogged from all the blown debris and the accumulating water found its way into the bilges/engine room. The original surveyor also found active termites, (probably attracted by the wet wood).Ã? Extermination of the termites is scheduled in July.
