The Mainship Pilot 31 was the last model of many, prior to the tooling being sold to Marlow Marine. It is a Downeast style hardtop with semi-enclosed helm, single diesel propulsion, and a cruise friendly interior. They are a rare find.
The focal point of the boat is the spacious helm deck. Enclosed on three sides with a canvas drop for the aft side, a galley area behind the helm seat includes an electric 2 burner stove, refrigerator/freezer and sink. Opposite the galley is an L-shaped lounge seating for four people with a folding dinette table. Forward of the settee is a forward-facing companion seat.
Below deck, the convertible sofa to port transforms into upper and lower berths. Across from the settee is a unique enclosed head, featuring a separate shower area and sink/vanity. All the way forward is a rectangular island queen berth. The cherry plank cabin sole adds warmth and complements the cherry cabinetry with a thoughtful touch. Six opening ports and an overhead hatch provide abundant natural light and ventilation. The 31 Pilot is thoughtfully designed as a "couples' boat."
