Overview
The Leopard 53 Powercat represents the new flagship of Leopard's motor yacht fleet, expanding on the brand's successful powercatamaran line. This model offers a significant increase in interior volume—31% more than its predecessor—providing spacious accommodations and versatile social areas. The yacht is available in both three- and four-stateroom configurations, catering to different owner preferences.
Interior Living Spaces
The interior of the 53 Powercat is designed with functionality and comfort in mind. The galley, repositioned aft between the two main social zones on the main deck, features a U-shaped layout with Corian countertops, a convection microwave oven, gas stove, and ample storage including refrigerated drawers and a dishwasher. A full-size refrigerator with water and ice dispenser and additional freezer space underline the generous provisions. Overhead treatments include upholstered panels with LED and recessed lighting, while high-mounted air conditioning vents ensure even cooling throughout the space. The salon offers opposing seating arrangements with an L-shaped couch on the port side and a two-person loveseat on the starboard side, centered around a coffee table with beverage holders. A 50-inch TV on an electric lift and an inductive charging mat enhance entertainment and convenience. Large wraparound windows flood the salon with natural light, and a large glass door provides access to the bow area, which features two lounges convertible into chaise positions.
Exterior Design and Deck Areas
The 53 Powercat's exterior emphasizes spaciousness and safety. The bow area is squared off between the hulls with 28-inch high rails and seating on both sides. Side decks are wide and protected by raised edges and cabin-side rails, providing secure movement around the vessel. The aft deck features an L-shaped seating area with a solid wood table and additional freestanding chairs, complemented by a sun lounge on the starboard side. Overhead protection stands seven feet above the deck, and storage is available beneath all seating. Swim platforms extend 5 feet 3 inches on both sides, with a hydraulically actuated platform at the stern capable of launching a 10-foot rigid inflatable boat. A reboarding ladder is positioned on the port side. Access to the flybridge is via wide starboard-side stairs with grab handles, leading to a well-appointed entertainment space. The flybridge includes an open deck area for additional seating or loungers, surrounded by 33-inch high rails exceeding safety standards. A double aft-facing lounger, an outdoor galley with a double electric grill, recessed sink, ice maker, refrigerator, and U-shaped seating around a solid teak table provide ample amenities under a six-foot-eight-inch overhead. Dedicated life raft storage and forward-facing seating complete the flybridge layout.
Private Accommodations
The yacht's three-stateroom, three-head layout offers spacious and well-appointed private quarters. The master stateroom occupies the full starboard side, featuring abundant natural light from hull-side and stern windows, a central sitting area with chaise lounge, mirrored hanging lockers, additional storage, and a vanity. The berth is aft with storage beneath, and a 38-inch swivel-mounted TV is included. The en-suite bathroom offers his-and-hers sinks set in Corian counters, extensive storage, an electric flush toilet, walk-in shower with hull-side window, and overhead hatch for ventilation. Alternatively, the yacht can be configured as a four-stateroom layout, mirroring the master stateroom on the port side. The forward stateroom includes a berth with access on both sides, upholstered headboard, sconce lighting, full-length mirror, hull-side window with opening port, storage drawers, and a private en-suite with electric flush toilet, Corian sink counter, storage, hull-side window, and walk-in shower with opaque glass. The aft stateroom features a berth mounted parallel to the keel with storage underneath and alongside, hull-side windows, and a private en-suite with similar amenities. Headroom throughout these accommodations is maintained at 6 feet 6 inches. The aft port cabin houses the generator and engine start battery switches.
