LINDY is a Legacy 40 Sedan Flybridge that has been extensively upgraded and improved by her current (second) owner at the Portsmouth and Stuart Hinckley service yards. With her single Cummins QSM-11 (635 hp) engine and Mark Ellis-designed modified deep vee hull, she is very fuel efficient. She will plane off at 11 knots and can be cruised as fast as 21 knots. The hull has a full keel so the running gear is fully protected. LINDY is a two-cabin, single-head layout with the galley down.
INTRODUCTION:
Currently sitting in Stuart, Florida, LINDY is a classic Downeast design that is easy to see and ready for her next owner. She has been set up to fish or cruise or just enjoying a ride at the end of the day.
CONSTRUCTION:
DECK & HULL
- Hull is vacuum infused fiberglass laminate with Corecell foam with vinylester resin
- White hull with green boot stripe
- Painted rub rail and quarter guard with stainless steel chafe strips protect the hull
- Swim platform with swim ladder and handholds by ladder
- Deck is fiberglass laminate with balsa core
- White gelcoat with light tan nonskid
- Varnished teak toe rail cap on molded bulwark
- Stainless steel bow chocks for bowlines and hawse pipes in bulwarks for midship and stern lines
- Stainless steel bow rail extending aft to cockpit provides security on deck (2013)
- Stainless steel handrails on forward trunk cabin and edge of pilothouse roof
- Three large overhead hatches in trunk cabin forward. Aft two have built in solar powered vent fans

COCKPIT:
- The aft cockpit provides a comfortable outdoor space with access to the swim platform through a transom door and a ladder up to the flybridge. Steps up to the side decks provide access to the bow and a sliding door opens into the pilothouse

The flybridge provides and additional outdoor entertaining and driving area with comfortable seating and excellent visibility

- Flybridge steering station with duplicate electronics and engine controls
ACCOMMODATIONS:
The warm bright interior is finished in Herreshoff style with white bulkhead and overhead with varnished cherry trim and lockers and a traditional teak and holly cabin sole with removable yacht carpet. Starting aft, the large pilothouse includes an inside helm and large seating area which steps down forward to and open galley connected visually for visiting while cooking and entertaining. Opposite the galley to starboard is a sleeping cabin with double bunk berths and sliding pocket doors for privacy. The head is forward of the galley and includes a separate stall showers and has access from the forward cabin and main cabin area. Forward is the master cabin with a large v-berth.

PILOTHOUSE:
The pilothouse with its large windows and comfortable seating is the primary interior living and entertaining space on the boat. The layout was customized by Hinckley in 2013
