If there is yacht level maintained J/105 out there this is it. As a listing broker I have owned 2 sisterships and have been on at least 50-60 other J/105s over the years and this is the nicest of all of them. Optimized for single handing with a 2nd set of sheet winches aft by the helm and with a Tides Track for the main. Other cruisey features include 110 Volt electrical system, below decks linear drive autopilot and many other nice features that would make her ideal as a family day sailor, but she is so nice that the serious racer would do well to buy her and tweak her to be the best of the race course. Awlgripped in 2010 and not a mark on it! Sail Magazines "Boat of the Year" when introduced in 1992!

The Biggest Pros and Cons
The 2002 J Boats J/105 is a popular one-design racing sailboat known for its performance and versatility. Here are some of the pros and cons of this model:
Pros
Performance-Oriented Design: The J/105 features a sleek hull and efficient sail plan that deliver excellent speed and handling, making it competitive in regattas.
One-Design Class: As part of a strict one-design class, the J/105 allows for fair and close racing, appealing to sailors focused on skill over equipment advantages.
Manageable Size: At around 34 feet, it is large enough to handle offshore conditions yet small enough for a relatively short-handed crew.
Spacious Cockpit: The cockpit layout is optimized for racing, with ample space for crew maneuvering and control lines.
Comfortable Interior: Despite its racing focus, the interior provides basic accommodations suitable for weekend cruising, including berths, a small galley, and a head.
Solid Construction: Built with quality materials and craftsmanship, the 2002 model maintains durability and longevity.
Cons
Limited Cruising Amenities: The interior is functional but Spartan, lacking the luxury features found in dedicated cruising yachts.
Cockpit Layout Focused on Racing: While great for racing, the cockpit may feel less comfortable for casual day sailing or socializing.
Maintenance Requirements: As with many performance sailboats, upkeep of the rigging and sails can be more demanding and costly.
Limited Storage: Storage space below deck is minimal, which can be a challenge for extended cruising or liveaboard use.
Learning Curve: The responsive and performance-oriented nature of the J/105 may require more experienced handling, which could be intimidating for novice sailors.
