The Island Packet 35 was the first mid-thirties design and was introduced in 1989 as a second generation packet with the continuing but improved IP design philosophy of full keel with spade rudder, mast head cutter rig and shoal draft. The 35 had private aft and fore cabins and an improved hull, keel and rudder shape. She is very comfortable in all kinds of conditions with lots of storage and elbow room. Her cruising performance won her numerous competitive offshore cruising competitions.
ASPRI MERA has a boom furling main, bow thruster and many other upgrades that make her a very modern IP 35. She has been well cared for and maintained. With her many improvements, she is a MUST SEE!!!!
The Island Packet 35 is known for her exceptional livability and cavernous storage located underneath & behind the settees plus she has three separate hanging lockers. Plenty of storage for the cruising sailor. The private V-Berth is forward and opening hatch and 2 opening ports for comfortable sleeping. The large Head is next aft on port featuring a large shower stall and great ventilation with an opening port and hatch.. The spacious Main Saloon has facing settees and a bulkhead mounted table that stores out of the way when not in use and facing settees. The port settee converts to a double berth. There is a smaller table to be used when the dining table is not needed. The port settee also functions as the seat for the aft facing Nav Station. The Electrical Panel, Repeaters and Radios are all within easy reach of the Navigator. The huge Galley is to starboard of the Companionway and is one of the best ever designed! It features a huge refrigerated ice box, double SS sinks and great storage and work areas. It is a safe place for the cook to work. The Aft Cabin and its large Quarterberth is to port of the companionway 2 opening ports and an opening hatch. It has a hanging locker, cubbys at the entrance, The 35 has excellent ventilation and well designed storage. She is comfortable, safe and can carry your "stuff" easily to your destination.
Aspri Mera also features Reverse Cycle Heat and Air plus a Force 10 cabin heater. There are screens for all the ports.
