This is an example of the Island Packet pedigree and an affordable price. She is a well built vessel and will make a great liveaboard or cruiser for her new owner(s). She is quality in a small package.

She was a liveaboard to her past owner for several years until health intervened. She will need her standing rigging inspected and running rigging replaced. The estate would value a quick sale. Priced lowered 5/14/24 to go.

We have had her cleaned inside and out to include a diver cleaning the bottom.

Pros

Solid Build Quality: The Island Packet 27 features a robust fiberglass hull and a full keel with a cutaway forefoot, providing excellent stability and durability, ideal for offshore cruising.

Comfortable Interior: Despite its modest size, the boat offers a surprisingly spacious and well-designed interior with ample storage, making extended trips more enjoyable.

Cutter Rig: The cutter rig setup allows for versatile sail configurations, improving performance and ease of handling in various wind conditions.

Shallow Draft: With a draft of around 3.8 feet, the Island Packet 27 is capable of accessing shallower waters, expanding cruising grounds.

Good Load Carrying Ability: The boat can comfortably carry cruising gear and supplies without significant performance compromise.

Reputation and Support: Island Packet boats have a strong reputation for quality and a loyal owner community, which can be beneficial for maintenance and advice.

Cons

Performance: The full keel design and heavier displacement mean the boat is not particularly fast, especially in light wind conditions.

Maneuverability: The full keel and cutter rig can make tacking and maneuvering in tight quarters more challenging compared to fin keel boats.

Age-Related Wear: As a 1986 model, some boats may require updates or maintenance to rigging, sails, and onboard systems depending on their care history.

Limited Cockpit Space: The cockpit is functional but relatively small, which may be less comfortable for larger crews or entertaining.

Outdated Systems: Original equipment such as electronics, plumbing, and engine may be outdated and could need upgrading for modern cruising expectations.
