WINDSONG was purchased by her current owners directly from Ted Irwin, in early 2010. The current owners began updating, refitting and renewing WINDSONG in February, 2015. They continued with this work until September, 2017. In that timeframe, WINDSONG received a New Northern Lights 9kw Generator, all New Garmin Electronics, a New Washer and Dryer, a New Internal Mainsheet, New Custom Stainless-Steel Ports, New Lewmar Hatches, New Custom Lighting, a New Custom Hard Top was installed with a Custom Cockpit Enclosure, New Stern Seats were added including a Shore Power Cable Winder Box mounted under the starboard stern seating. The details of All the Upgrades, Additions and Refits are listed below including the date of installation, rebuild and/or replacement.

The brightwork was refinished in May, 2022. See below for a more detailed list and the extent of work completed.

  • Yanmar 4LH-TE 110hp - Complete overhaul, rebuild and installation (5/2016). Completely itemized invoice available for review as to the extensive work performed.
  • New 200-amp Balmar alternator installed (5/2016).
  • New exhaust turbo installed (5/2016).
  • Overhaul and re-ratio with new gear set, KM5A transmission, installed (5/2016).
  • New Northern Lights M773LW3G: 9kw genset with sound shield installed (2/2015).
  • Main mast removed and rewired '100%' (10/2015).
  • New mast step fabricated, powered coated and installed (10/2015).
  • Mast re-stepped (12/2015).
  • New Garmin electronics installed (9/2017). Garmin 7612 GPS chart plotter and (4) remote Garmin nav pods.
  • Refrigerator door and freezer hatch reconstructed with 4" foam insulation laminated and glassed in place with epoxy and fiberglass construction.
  • New custom-built lightweight hardtop painted w/Awl Grip and an anodized aluminum super structure, welded mounted and installed (10/2015).
  • Custom vinyl and Sunbrella canvas enclosure fabricated and installed (2016). (3) forward window panels constructed using 1/6" Makrolon w/UV film.
  • New Starboard composite dive platform fabricated and installed (9/2015)
  • New sail track for main and mizzen mast replaced (4/2017).
  • Brightwork refinished (5/2022). Old finish on teak taken down to bare wood. (2) coats low viscosity epoxy applied. Sanded between coat, followed up with (4) coats Captain's varnish, sanded between coats.
  • New Rocna 'Vulcan' 40kg fixed anchor and 200' high 5/16" high test chain installed (5/2017).

A roller furling headstay and Genoa and fiberglass stern rail seats are but a few of the many attractive standard features. Belowdecks, the tasteful use of color-coordinated micas and richly varnished teak create a feeling of warmth and spaciousness. The opulent main salon is elegantly appointed with two handsome L-shaped settees, an elaborate and sophisticated navigation station, liquor lockers, and a breakfast bar with a swiveling captain's chair. The galley is a gourmet's dream with a generous amount of space for food preparation and storage. The dining salon comfortably accommodates six to eight guests. Depending on the owner's needs a two three or four stateroom configuration is available.
