Highlights include:
- Niad Stabilized
- Newer Garmin 8612 MFD
- Newer Garmin Radar
- Hard Top
- Gorgeous Enclosed Aft Deck
- Huge Salon and Master Suite
Built on what Hatteras called a "dual mode" hull designed by Jack Hargrave to be efficient at low speed running while retaining planing speed capability with larger 6V-92TA engines. Fuel efficiency was a huge factor in 1980 when the 48' was introduced. Showing a slightly trawler style profile, the Hatteras 48' was heavily built on a solid fiberglass hull with shallow deadrise aft and a long keel for directional stability. We would encourage any "trawler lookers" concerned about range & economy to consider this vessel. Much more liveaboard space than most trawlers! Unique is the flybridge fiberglass hard top with enclosures making cruising a real all weather event.
Offering 3 generous staterooms and 3 heads, this yacht showcases the rich warmth of Hatteras' beautifully preserved original teak interior. Particularly appealing for a cruising couple, the master head was thoughtfully reconfigured by a previous owner with the toilet removed, creating a more spacious shower area and an open, functional layout that comfortably accommodates two people at once.
Accommodations
Great layout with the advantage of the 3 step principle. 3 steps into the salon, 3 steps up to the bridge, 3 steps to the lower level staterooms fore and aft. A very easy vessel to get around inside and out.
Aft Deck
"Perhaps the nicest area on this boat is this huge aft deck," states the loving owners. "It has a huge wrap around built in lounge with storage under the cushions. A large solid teak high-low table that easily seats 8 as well as space for a built in refrigerator/ice maker/wet bar."
Salon is generous and has a couch/chair combination that offer flexibility of any customization your desire.
Full-Beam Master Stateroom is aft. Features a tapered queen berth with a genuine innerspring mattress for exceptional comfort. Abundant storage includes a large hanging locker, drawers, and built-in cabinetry, while a private shower stall enhances convenience. Both heads onboard are equipped with VacuFlush systems (installed in 2003).
Located amidship, opposite the guest stateroom, is a private head that has served as the master primary head since 2003, offering excellent privacy for owners, while also conveniently accommodating guests when aboard.
Guest stateroom is amidship. Crisscross over under. There is a hanging locker and air conditioning control, lights and screened port lights.
Third stateroom is forward in the Vee area. Double bunks to starboard, generous hanging locker and head opposite. Overhead screened hatch and hull side screened port lights plus air/heat controls.
