OVERVIEW
RHOO is a 1997 Hans Christian Christina 43, Scott Sprague's cutter-rigged offshore design built by Hans Christian Yachts initially in Taiwan and then later in Thailand. The Christina pairs an encapsulated modified full keel with a skeg-hung rudder, delivering the heavy, solidly built hull and fine mahogany joinery Hans Christian is known for, with better handling than the yard's traditional full-keel models.
Since purchasing her in December 2021, the current owners have carried out a sustained, well-documented refit and then cruised her full time from December 2022 to August 2026 along the US East Coast and in the Bahamas. Between 2022 and 2026 nearly every major system was renewed: the Yanmar 4JH2-TE was completely rebuilt with a new ZF 25M transmission, the running gear and engine mounts were replaced, the electrical system was converted to lithium and solar with a 3,000 W inverter/charger, the teak deck was fully recaulked, the chainplates were rebedded, and most hoses, clamps and thru-hulls were replaced. She is hauled yearly and has been meticulously maintained. The owners are coming ashore to spend time with their grandchildren, and RHOO is ready for her next crew.
