The Grand Banks 47 Europa was designed and built for the modern, discerning yachtsman.
Step aboard, set your course, and you'll know immediately it's a Grand Banks: rock-solid reliability balanced by graceful lines and gracious interiors. The essence of yachting, captured in fine craftsmanship at every turn. Push the throttles forward, and you'll discover new surprises: soon you're nearing 22 knots, riding smooth and trim atop its modified deep-V hull. Inside, it's broader, brighter. Outside, it's another great day for a cruise.
Powered by twin Common Rail Cummins QSC8.3 490hp engines with less than 1,000 hours. Onan 11.5 kW generator, Garmin electronics, reverse-cycle heat and air. Two heads, two showers, two queen-sized berths. She is ready for her next owners. The design, appearance, accommodations, performance and condition will exceed your expectations. Unfortunately, only 102 GB 47s were built from 2005 to 2014. When these rare boats come up, it makes perfect sense why they sell quickly.
The master stateroom is centerline in the forepeak with an island queen berth, storage cabinets, a hanging locker, and a starboard en-suite head with a stall shower. To port is the guest head with a stall shower; opposite to starboard is the guest cabin with a queen berth, hanging locker, and cabinets. The L-shaped galley is portside amidships and has overhead dish lockers, a microwave, refrigeration, storage cabinets, and black granite countertops. Opposite, on starboard, is the lower helm with instrumentation, engine controls, and a double captain's seat. Aft to starboard is a straight settee that converts into a queen berth. To port, an L-shaped dinette settee area features a beautiful hi-low yacht table. Through the sliding salon door to the huge cockpit, you'll find the stairway leading to the flybridge. The flybridge offers plenty of comfortable all-weather seating, storage below, a Uline ice maker (inoperable), a hot-and-cold Grohe single faucet, and a stainless steel sink. The helm is centerline forward, with two Stidd seats for captain and mate and an overhead bimini top with a three-sided enclosure. The Cummins QSC8.3 Engine package is a significant upgrade over the standard Caterpillar C7 engine package that most of the early 47 Europas were equipped with. The Cummins QSC8.3 is a 490 hp electronically controlled "Common Rail" diesel engine, highly respected for its clean-burning fuel efficiency and reliability. These engines will cruise the yacht economically at 9 knots @ 1200 rpm and top out well over 20 knots. The Cummins "Smart Craft" digital displays on the helm provide all pertinent operating data, including fuel burn rate while underway.
These smooth-running engines, combined with robust design rubber engine mounts, an underwater exhaust system, Teignbridge shaft couplings, custom 5-blade props, and the engine room sound package, keep the yacht running smoothly, vibration-free, quiet, and pleasant underway, without unnecessary fatigue.

The Grand Banks Forty Seven utilizes prop tunnels and underwater exhaust, improving cruising speeds while reducing noise and vibration. Larger deck lockers and multiple cleats at each oversized hawser were also significant improvements over previous models. Earlier Grand Banks were solid fiberglass hulls with varying degrees of thickness. This generation of Grand Banks was constructed of solid hand-laid fiberglass (below the waterline) and PVC closed-cell coring sandwiched between fiberglass layers on the hull sides and deck. The primary benefits of fiberglass coring are keeping the weight low while the cored hull sides and decks remain strong, increasing stiffness, minimizing vibration, providing thermal insulation, and increasing interior volume. The main-level fiberglass deck is covered with genuine Burmese teak planking. The teak planks are glued in place; the only screws that penetrate the teak are around the hatch perimeters.
