This Grand Banks 36 is in good condition and mostly original. The fuel tanks were replaced with four aluminum tanks, total 352 gal, range 800+ miles. The teak has been removed from the decks which are now fiberglass. The refrigerator has been removed, the space remains open. The generator has been removed. The forward cabin remains in its original configuration, two berths and a head. The aft cabin remains in its original configuration, single berth to port and double berth to starboard; head with shower forward. The Saloon is mostly original with the seating ell around the salon table, helm and pilot station forward, galley to port. They Galley is equipped with a propane stove/oven, sink and microwave oven. The refrigerator has been removed and not yet replaced.
The flying bridge is essentially original, and remains an extremely comfortable helm station or a great center for entertaining or just watching the sun set with an appropriate beverage in hand. The mast and boom have been seriously up graded with aluminum spars and beefy rigging.
The Ammarine 404 diesel engines were developed by John Deere and American Marine as slow turning, smooth, quiet, counter rotating matched pairs, coupled through large reduction gears and big diameter propellers. This combination resulted in economy, comfort and handling characteristics that typify a proper ship.
