Hilaire is a wonderful example of the Freedom 35. The current owners have enjoyed sailing her amongst the islands of Maine. The have hauled her every years for the winter and done all the needed service, along with some upgrades like new gooseneck, new Isinglass in dodger, new lazy jacks, etc.
The Freedom 35s are a great platform for some real cruising. They have high freeboard and aft boarding. The carbon mast is proven and simplifies the deck. The interior is well designed for extended trips.

Easy Handling: The absence of standing rigging and a simple sail plan make it manageable for short-handed crews.
Solid Construction: Built with quality fiberglass materials, the boat has a reputation for durability and longevity.
Cons
Limited Downwind Sail Options: The unique rig setup can limit traditional downwind sail choices, potentially requiring additional sails for optimal performance.
Availability of Spare Parts: Due to the specialized rig and older build year, finding replacement parts or specialized rigging components can be challenging.
Performance in Light Air: While generally good, the boat may be slower in very light wind conditions compared to conventional rigs.
Interior Layout: Although spacious, the unconventional design may not suit everyone's taste or needs in terms of cabin arrangement.
