When Garry Hoyt wanted a good cruising boat, he came up with a new concept, the cat-ketch. I raced against him at Antigua and all I ever saw was his transom...getting smaller. These boats are magically quick. Since the '70's his boats have changed some. New developments have resulted in the production of 120 Freedom 33s. These innovative boats are light, yet rigid, because of the balsa core and carbon fiber spars. The centerboard is a Jay Parris design. It pivots in a channel, eliminating the need for a pin that breaches the hull. The stayless spars improve performance, not only because of the weight reduction, but because the main and boom can go way forward, allowing for 'wing and wing' downwind. WIND RUNNER is factory built, has good equipment, very large winches, new exhaust, new VHFs, new lamps, modern booms and is clean, ready to go, in Miami. $34,500
