The hydrodynamic One-Drive® system features a unique electromagnetically actuated hydraulic clutch for exceptional smoothness and quiet operation. Especially noticeable in the twin engine configuration, the hydraulic clutch system quietly engages and disengages gears at an incredibly responsive two-shifts-per-second.
Each drive is outfitted with precision-forged gears for exceptional durability, counter-rotating propellers for superior acceleration, and large rudder dimensions for excellent handling on single and twin engine boats. The One-Drive transom has a significantly larger exhaust output than comparable systems, minimizing backpressure for improved engine performance. The system is also equipped with the latest in active and passive corrosion protection, and is complete with power-assisted steering and hydraulic trim.
On twin-engine boats, Ilmor offers the optional One-Touch® joystick system for easy vessel maneuverability at low speeds, especially for docking. Ilmor's One-Touch joystick control provides smooth, quiet, and responsive shifting exclusively found on the One-Drive™ system.
The One-Touch offers 360° rotational capability (within a boat length), sideways and diagonal movement capability, and independent steering of the drives with independent shifting. Under the hatch, the Formula 310BR houses a pair of new Gen 5 Ilmor 6.2-liter GDI engines, each rated at 430 horsepower. These engines are notably smaller than competing 8.2-liter models while delivering equivalent power, thanks to direct fuel injection that enhances torque by approximately 10% and broadens the effective torque range from 3200 RPM to the top end. The closed cooling exhaust manifold design eliminates raw water exposure, reducing corrosion risks and enabling an optional seven-year, 1,000-hour corrosion warranty on exhaust manifolds.
