Formulas have earned their reputation for excellence for decades, originating from the highly respected racing stable of Formula Boats, beginning in 1956 with simple runabouts and evolving to more streamlined, smooth-riding, performance-oriented models.
This Formula 242 is a modern classic that was completely refitted by the current owner from the bottom paint up in 2018. The twin Chevy 350 V8 engines were completely rebuilt from scratch moving the hp from stock 520 to 840 hp with 120 hrs with fresh rebuilt Alph 1 drives. She cruises at 35 mph/2800 rpm and 65 mph/5000+ rpm WOT. She is equipped with a compass, a radio, Bluetooth, and speakers. The open interior has upholstered twin bucket seats, a rear bench seat, a cushioned sun pad aft, a swim platform, and a swim ladder. Below deck, the 8 ft beam makes for a very spacious interior for a high-performance boat of this size. There is a comfortable 2 berth cuddy cabin, perfect for overnights and water-toy storage. The hull was repainted/gelled with all of the detail and is in beautiful shape. A Load Rite dual-axel trailer is included in the sale.
