THE MIGHTY "TERRAPIN"
Designed by Wyatt & Freeman and Built by North Shore Yachts of West Sussex, England.
The Fisher Pilot House Motor Sailors are well renowned for their Seaworthiness, Visibility, Comfort and Safety at Sea. Construction is and Always has been Overbuilt from the very beginning resulting in Boats that last a very long time and provide Ocean Navigating Sailors a Safe and Comfortable Vessel in which to Trust Their Lives With.
"Terrapin" as been under the stewardship of the same owner for more than 20 years. In the time he has owned the Boat, she has been given a significant interior Upgrade. Accommodations in the salon have been Updated with many Extra Features ranging from the Custom Teak Cabinetry, Headliner and Trims. Diamond Sea Glaze aluminum framed Tempered Glass windows. The Engine was replaced in 2001 and has only about 400 hours. The owner, a Former Commercial Airline Pilot spared no expense in taking a good foundation and improving pretty much just about everything.
She is simple, very inexpensive to operate, fits in a 25' slip with low maintenance costs.
This Little Yacht and she is a Yacht, is a Joy to Sail and Loves the Wind. 25 kts is No Big Deal. If the Wind gets Higher Than Comfortable; Strike the Main, roll the Genoa to Storm Size, and Sail with a Small Jib and Mizzen and Steer from the Pilot House. For those lighter airs days, there is a Removable Tiller that one can Steer from the Cockpit. We would not recommend taking her to the races.
Her sails are Tan Bark and made of heavy Dacron, Rigging is 1X19 Stainless wire. Roller Furling Genoa and Traditional Slab Rigging. Rigging and Sails are in good condition.
She would make a perfect little pocket cruiser to Gunkhole the Pacific NW, British Columbia and Alaska. Want to go further, Mexico, Polynesia, New Zealand, Australia? Where do you want to go? At 25 feet, this is Possibly the best Little Boat You Can Choose for Local Cruising or a Trip Around The World.
You can buy a bigger boat for less money, you can buy a newer boat for less money but you will be Hard Pressed to find a potentially Better Choice for an Ocean Going Vessel for the asking price. Yes we know, "Terrapin" is higher priced than other Fisher 25's. So, if you want to buy a less expensive choice, find one at a lower price, spend between 75,000-$100,000 on it and you may have a boat that can equal "Terrapin" in condition and as equipped.
The only thing you will have to do to go cruising this summer is Top off the Tanks and Provision. She just got a Fresh Bottom.

Pros
Solid Build: The Fisher 25 features a robust fiberglass hull and traditional full keel, providing excellent stability and durability.

Easy to Handle: The manageable size and sail plan make it suitable for single-handed sailing or a small crew.
Cons
Limited Speed: The full keel design prioritizes stability over speed, so the Fisher 25 is not a fast boat compared to more modern designs.
Aging Equipment: Being a vintage vessel, many models may require updates or maintenance to rigging, engine, and onboard systems.
Tighter Space: While comfortable for its size, the interior can feel cramped for extended cruising or larger groups.
Limited Storage: Storage space below decks is modest, which may restrict provisions and gear for longer voyages.
Heavier Handling: The full keel and traditional design can make maneuvering in tight marinas a bit more challenging compared to fin keel boats.
