43' Motor Sailor built by the famous Cheoy Lee Shipyard of Kowloon, Hong Kong. (Est. about 1870)
Cheoy Lee is the predecessor to the Taiwan Boats starting in the 1970's with more than 5,000 boats built to date. Today, they build yachts and commercial boats over 60' and up.
Robert Perry Designed and built to sturdy scantlings. Canoe stern for comfort and safety in following seas. True pilot house with 180d view while motoring or sailing. According to Mr. Perry, "The 43 is one of those designs that exceeded expectations".
The Cheoy Lee 43 Motor Sailor is known for its toughness and comfort in a seaway, when the weather gets bad, go inside and sail or motor out of the weather. Ample storage space for stores and gear in two cockpit lockers and below decks compartments.
She is a great boat for PNW and BC Sailing, perfect for Alaska.
Old growth teak interior with varnished finish. Master stateroom is forward with Queen sized bed, private head with shower. Guest / crew cabins aft, a double to Stbd a single to Pt. Aft cabins share a head.
Powered by a 6 cylinder 120 HP Lehman diesel, she motors at approximately 8 kts at cruise. The 5 KW generator provides plenty of power to run ships systems while sailing or at anchor. Easy engine and generator access is below the pilot house floor and a door in the stbd aft cabin.
On deck, the mainsail is on a Schaffer furler as is the genoa, resulting in easy sail handling.
AB aluminum Inflatable with 8HP outboard is hung on Stainless davits with 2 solar panels providing
about 500 watts of power to keep batteries topped off while at the dock or anchorage unattended.
