This is Hull #1 of the S&S 40's and was built as a prototype for the production models which were built through 1968. (She was trucked to each coast to be on display at all the boat shows.) She was originaly designed as an offshore cruiser/racer for the Cruising Club of America. Since 1991, she has been owned by the two-time president of the Ancient Mariner's Society and won first in class at their regatta last year!
