Everglades describes this as a hybrid bay/offshore boat that is dry, smooth, and unsinkable. It is able to go in shallow water with its 16" engine up draft, and offshore with a variable deep-v hull form that measures deadrise at the transom of 20-degrees.
The fit-and-finish of every Everglades boat is a reflection of the buyers desire to own a quality boat. This one is no exception, she has been very well taken care of.

The fit-and-finish of the Everglades 235CC is excellent. Example: all of the storage compartments, including the bilge, have finished gel-coated interiors.
Nothing is done halfway, there are no half-measures on this boat and we all like that. The 253CC is well thought out and well-executed.
Design
The 253CC is the largest single engine boat in Everglade's center console lineup.
The design of this boat was influenced by two other successful models in Everglade's lineup, their 243CC which is considered a bay boat, and their 273CC which is more of an offshore fishing boat. Giving the owner of this boat the best of both in just the right package for the Gulf Coast.
Construction
The construction method known as Rapid Molded Core Assembly or RAMCAP is a build process that won Everglades an NMMA innovation award in 1999. Most small boat builders follow Boston Whaler's original technique of injecting low-density 2 to 3 lb. foam into cavities to create flotation if a boat is swamped that meets USCG requirements. Everglades takes this a step further, molding high-density 6-pound foam and placing it in exact positions between the hull and liner and bonding them together with fiberglass and resin under vacuum.
This provides a strong, rigid hull with sound and vibration dampening qualities as well as the desired flotation - even though boats over 20-feet in length are not required to have it. The liner is made on a male mold, which is why Everglades liners have highly finished gel coat interiors and opening any hatch presents a finished look.
The gel-coated inner liner is set in over the wet resin and foam in the hull and a vacuum is pulled to bond the hull and liner together. The high density foam now acts to solidify the hull as well as providing flotation.
Physically bonding the hull and liner together under vacuum pressure results in a one piece composite structure. The deck is then chemically and mechanically (riveted) bonded to the hull.
Stern
The built-in cooler between the jump seats is self-draining and the lid connects the casting deck space when the jump seat covers are closed.
Jump seats flank a cooler in the stern. When folded down the seats provide an aft casting deck that spans the beam of the boat in front of the engine.
The 41" x 76" wide aft casting platform has a diamond non-skid surface. The toe rails to each side are 3" high. The cap rail has 8" pull-up cleats, three to a side.
The seats have latches that lock the seat back in the closed position so they don't fly up when underway.
With the aft casting deck hinged up, there is access to the batteries, automatic bilge pumps, and tinned wiring within. The compartment is finished in gelcoat and neatly labeled, which is not something we see often in a boat of this size. Even the board holding the wiring folds down for access behind.
The stern has an optional power pole for fishing and tow rings to both sides of the transom. Freeboard at the transom is 16". The aft corners of the 91 sq. ft. cockpit have drains that provide for a self-bailing cockpit. Just above the drains, There is a freshwater washdown to the port side which is connected to the boats 20-gallon water tank and a raw water washdown to starboard.
Just below the optional power pole is a stainless steel hydraulic trim tab. These single piston tabs include a position indicator.
On the port side of the Yamaha V-6 outboard is a swim step with a NMMA certified two-step, 24" deep, telescoping reboarding ladder below.
The 9" wide cap rail holds three rod holders on each side. Below the grab handle is a JL Stereo speaker and a freshwater washdown bib. Under the bib is a cockpit drain.
In the center of the 7'3" wide aft deck is a leaning post with a 26 gallon livewell. Note the powder coated grab rail just above the acrylic lid. All cup holders are plumbed with a drain.
Side Decks
Both sides of the helm seat base have storage for plano boxes. Below that is space for a portable cooler or gear.
On the gunwales on either side of the helm console are sealed storage lockers. The JL audio speakers are the upgraded Premium Audio Package that includes the Fusion control head with Bluetooth and JL M-Series speakers as well as the JL amplifier and subwoofer. This boat is equipped with Spectrum RGB LED lights in the speakers.
Helm
The two-person helm bench seat is 38" wide.
She is outfitted with a large anti-fatigue mat between the helm chair and console.
The accessory switches include buttons for the anchor windlass and patented hydraulic sliding windshield with intelligent washer/wiper.
The 253CC has beautiful ergonomics and finish of the hardtop frame. The underside of the hardtop is gelcoat-color matched and includes the electronics bar with Fusion stereo head, VHF. LED spreader lights and courtesy lighting are standard. The Hardtop is outrigger ready should you decide to add those at some point.
The hardtop frame is 2 ½" diameter powder-coated aluminum with 1 ¼" grabrails. The hardtop is equipped with the Sport Station with upper controls. The hardtop also includes LED lights, spreader lights, electronics box, four rod holders, ski pylon, and canvas life jacket storage.
Note how the hardtop frame sits atop the console rather than bolted to the side of the console, providing maximum side deck space.
Head
The head compartment door with angled ventilation slots is on the port side of the console.
A head compartment with a Porta Potti is standard. Headroom is 5' from deck to overhead. There's an opening port with a screen on the starboard side.
Inside the head compartment are access panels to the helm electronics . Also, there's an overhead light and opening ventilation port.
There is a step down into the head compartment, a drain in the deck and storage net and cubbies.
Bow
The cockpit depth forward is 30" and the freeboard forward is 31".
The bow console seat is 36" wide and sits atop a large cooler.
There is an 86-quart built-in cooler below the seat. It has a gas strut so one can rummage without having to hold the top open.
There is an in-deck storage locker with a gas strut between the forward seats. The locker is insulated and doubles as a 69-gallon fish locker.
The forward lounger's seatbacks are removable and Powder Coated Black
Storage below the bow seats and the lockers are lit automatically when actuators on the open lids are triggered. A courtesy light is below the forward seat.
The foredeck is all non-skid. As a matter of fact, if the cushions are removed, the top of the seats are non-skid as is the filler board that drops in between the seats to create a fishing platform forward.
10 combo rod/cup holders grace the caprail right around the boat.
Handling
The Everglades 253CC is a solid boat. You will get no rattling and it cuts through waves nicely while being responsive to throttle. She corners without ventilation and provides a smooth/dry ride.

Everglades 253CC: BoatTEST Review
Overview
The Everglades 253CC is a hybrid center console boat that combines the deep V hull design typical of offshore center consoles with the low freeboard and shallow water capabilities of a bay boat. This versatile 26-foot 10-inch vessel is designed to deliver both offshore performance and inshore functionality, reflecting Everglades' commitment to meticulous craftsmanship and attention to detail.
Exterior Design and Deck Layout
The aft casting deck measures 6 feet 4 inches wide and 3 feet 5 inches fore and aft at its widest point, featuring a non-skid surface for safety. The cockpit spans 7 feet 3 inches wide by 2 feet 10 inches fore and aft, equipped with aft jump seats inspired by outdoor furniture design. These seats have bottoms that push forward when the backrests are raised, and the backrests latch securely to prevent movement while underway. Between the seats, a cooler hatch opens on a tension hinge, eliminating the need for gas struts. The cooler's drain hose and all ten combination cup and rod holders are double clamped with rubber-capped clamps, ensuring all drainage is directed overboard rather than into the bilge. Four JL Audio speakers are positioned in each cockpit corner, complemented by raw water and fresh water flush systems on port and starboard sides respectively. The battery charger plug and undergunnel rod storage are conveniently located forward on the port side. The entire aft seat assembly lifts on stainless steel gas struts for easy maintenance access, revealing a bilge finished to the same high standard as the boat's exterior. Batteries are positioned outboard with bilge pumps easily accessible on the hull bottom. Electrical connections are clearly labeled, use waterproof Deutsch connectors, and all hardware is torqued to specification. Additional access to the electrical panel is provided via removable Allen head bolts.
Bridge and Helm Features
The stern includes an optional 8-foot Power-Pole on the starboard side and a swim platform with a well-placed grab handle and a two-step ladder extending two feet below the waterline on the port side. The standard fiberglass hardtop integrates four rocket launcher-style rod holders, an elevated tow point, integrated spreader lights, and red, white, and blue courtesy lighting alongside two JL Audio speakers. Zippered storage for life jackets and soft gear is located forward under the hardtop. The frame is integrated into the helm console, creating a clean aesthetic and wider passageways. The leaning post features a rear rack for hooks, cup holders on each side, and a 26-gallon live well centrally positioned with openings for portable coolers on either side. Dedicated tackle box slots are located forward on each side. The helm seats are individual 18-inch wide units with fold-up armrests and contoured bolsters that provide comfortable leaning support when folded up. An anti-fatigue mat covers the deck underfoot, and the console is positioned far enough forward to allow ample standing space for both captain and companion.
Innovative Windshield and Electronics
A standout feature is Everglades' patented curved power windshield, which hydraulically raises and lowers at the push of a button. This allows the captain to reduce glare at night without leaving the helm position. The windshield wiper includes an integrated freshwater wash system. The helm layout includes a stainless steel steering wheel aligned with a compass, flanked by Bocatech accessory switches and a Yamaha CL7 display. The test boat was equipped with optional 16-inch Garmin multifunction displays. Controls for the Power-Pole, autopilot, VHF microphone, battery switches, ignition, digital Yamaha controls, and trim tabs with integrated position indicators are logically arranged around the helm. Overhead in the hardtop are controls for the Fusion stereo, Optimus power steering, VHF head, and courtesy lighting.
Interior Living and Amenities
The port side console houses a private head compartment accessible via a ventilated hatch. This compartment offers five feet of standing headroom and 3 feet 6 inches of vertical clearance above the port-a-potty. It is equipped with a light and an opening port for ventilation. Two large hatches provide access to helm rigging, and additional storage is available beneath a locker secured by a pair of nuts.
Bow Features and Storage
Forward in the bow, a JL Audio subwoofer is installed in the starboard gunwale, with tilt-in lockers providing ample storage. The 36-inch wide seat at the front of the console opens on a stainless steel gas strut to reveal an 86-quart cooler sealed with a thick rubber gasket. The bow deck includes an insulated draining fish box with matching hardware. Bow lounges measure 4 feet 1 inch in length and feature removable backrests, powder-coated rails, and bolsters running the length of the bow. Eight cup holders are distributed throughout the bow area, with USB ports integrated into the gunwales on each side. Beneath the bow seats are large insulated draining storage boxes illuminated by refrigerator-style lights. The foredeck houses a Lumar windlass beneath a large hatch, with a stainless steel anchor deploying through the bow. The anchor locker contains an 8-inch cleat, a chain stopper, and access to the rode compartment. Non-skid surfaces cover the entire foredeck, which also features 8-inch pull-up cleats combined with cup holders and integrated rod holders. LED navigation lights are mounted forward, with docking lights installed in the hull on each side.
Power and Performance
The Everglades 253CC measures 26 feet 10 inches overall with a beam of 8 feet 6 inches and a draft of 2 feet 4 inches. The vessel's empty weight is 5,250 pounds, with a test weight estimated at 6,550 pounds including 60 gallons of fuel and two people on board. Powered by a single 300-horsepower Yamaha four-stroke outboard driving a 15.5 by 16-inch Saltwater Series II three-blade stainless steel propeller, the boat achieved a top speed of 42.6 miles per hour at 5,650 RPM. The most economical cruise occurred at 3,500 RPM and 19.8 miles per hour, consuming 8.5 gallons per hour and yielding 2.3 miles per gallon with a range of 203 miles while maintaining a 10% fuel reserve from the 100-gallon total capacity. At lower RPMs, the boat demonstrated efficient trolling speeds and fuel economy, with 3 miles per hour at 600 RPM achieving 5 miles per gallon, 4.7 miles per hour at 1,000 RPM with 3.9 miles per gallon, and 6.7 miles per hour at 1,500 RPM with 3.3 miles per gallon. Acceleration tests showed a time to plane of 3.8 seconds, 0 to 20 miles per hour in 5.8 seconds, and 0 to 30 miles per hour in 10.2 seconds. Despite 15-knot gusting winds and rolling chop during testing, the 253CC maintained a solid, stable ride, handling turns with precision and agility.
Conclusion
The Everglades 253CC offers a unique blend of offshore capability and shallow water versatility, enhanced by thoughtful design details and premium features such as the patented power windshield and high-quality audio systems. Its spacious and well-appointed deck layout, combined with efficient power and solid handling, make it a compelling choice for families and anglers seeking a comfortable and capable boat for a variety of water conditions.
