In 1981, Eastern Boat Works started building one model - an 18' Classic designed by the renowned patriarch of Downeast designers, Royal Lowell. Forty-four years later, they continue to build Downeast-style boats known for their quality craftsmanship, versatility, ruggedness, comfort, and fishing capabilities... and SISU is all that and more. SISU is a Finnish word that means stamina, fortitude, and "guts". This vessel, aptly named, and the namesake of a lengendary Downeast hull designed by Royal Lowell in the 70's. She is powered by twin 150 hp YAMAHA LF150XB's with 635 hrs, is equipped with full suite of GARMIN electronics, and has a Promariner Prosport 12 battery charger. A special feature on this Eastern Island Cruiser is a FLIR imaging system, providing exceptional daytime-like visibility at night or in dense fog.
With a10'3" beam, SISU offers a spacious layout on deck, with ample rod storage and plenty of seating, making her a great platform for dedicated anglers, and leisurely cruisers. On the fishy side, she has a tackle center, additional rod holders port & starboard, and a removable livewell - all installed in 2020. Her plush upholstered helm-seating and transom-bench, wet-bar with sink and fridge, removable teak cockpit table, FUSION stereo system, and SeaDek upgrade, add that special touch of luxury for relaxing and entertaining. She has a cuddy cabin V-berth with a flatscreen TV forward, a below-deck-berth aft, and an electric marine head, perfect for those spontaneous overnight getaways.
