The Avalon 9 meter was drawn by Australian Designer Ray Kendrick in 1998. Exit is one of a very few of these homebuilt trimarans know to have been completed and sailing. At an intended 29.5' in length and 2645 lbs in overall displacement; it is a winner for day sailing, overnight cruising, and inshore point to point racing. There is one other main feature. The boat is design to fold it's out board hulls inward. This allows it to be trailerable at one third of it's sailing beam.

After 2 years of backyard construction in Redondo Beach California, my Father and I launched Exit in 2001. It is mostly made of epoxy and fiberglass over plywood. Other materials include: aluminum, stainless steel, carbon fiber, and few other "odds and ends".
