The "SLAPSHOT" is a 1983 model CONTEST 35 as produced by CONYPLEX of Holland in the 1981-1983 timeframe. Designed by Dick Zaal, the C35 was an instant marketing success given the Company's reputation for quality construction as well as the performance and layout features as provided. The follow-on model, the larger CONTEST 36S with an almost identical presentation, was produced for many years and also proved to be quite popular world-wide to include the USA.
The "SLAPSHOT" is offered with a number of significant equipment and maintenance upgrades within the past few years for sails & canvas, the engine & the yacht's electrical & plumbing systems. The rugged VOLVO MD17C diesel has had work accomplished for the cooling & exhaust systems that virtually eliminates any possible expensive further issues for these critical areas. The upgraded NORTH & ULMER sail inventory is more complete than most yachts of her class & type.
The "SLAPSHOT" is remarkable in that her Owner has only day-sailed her over the past 15 years. The almost unused newer interior cushions do compliment the exceptional quality of the interior varnished teak joinery that the Dutch are rightfully famous for. The resulting general lack of "wear & tear", combined with the CONTEST innate qualities of build, provide us with an excellent opportunity to acquire a true offshore-capable yacht in excellent condition and with a great inventory for her intended cruising applications:
