Owners description
1988 Catalina 36 MKI
Boat is set up for full time living completely off grid. Most of the major systems are newer or only 1-3 years old. Only item in the entire boat that does not work is the oven which will not light and I have not looked into why. Stove top burners work perfectly. The best part about this boat is that every major system is upgraded and essentially new so you won't spend your first year of adventuring fixing breaking things!
Solar runs every system except the hot water heater which runs off shore power or the motor. One half hour at idle heats the 6 gallon hot tank, or about 10 minutes at 2000 rpm. The fridge can run on full blast with the freezer icing up, a TV running, devices charging, lights on, and the solar keeps up even on cloudy days. The only time the generator is needed is if it's snowing or you have three teenagers with gaming laptops plugged in all at once.
OVERVIEW
Cruising speed 6 kts at 2000 rpm
Super easy and forgiving under sail. Heels over nice and smooth, not scary at all, it's essentially impossible to get the rail close to the water, even if you try.

2 HP motor, 6 yrs old, runs like new and looks like new
Will get on a plane with just me (160 lbs) in dinghy, otherwise pushes at about 4 kts with 4 people.
GALLEY
Two 1 gallon propane tanks for stove. These last about one month each with daily use of the stove top.
Oven does not fire, but both stove top burners work excellently.
6 gallon water heater is only 4 years old
12v refrigerator compressor - 2 years old, can run on coldest setting to ice up even on just solar. Very efficient.
Stainless sink, two large deep bowls, with residential faucet upgraded
Butcher block installed to replace nav station. The top of the nav station was removed and the seat was removed, butcher block is screwed/bolted in place NOT glued so that it is easily removable if desired. Nav station top and chair in great condition and come with the boat if the original setup is desired.

Two reserve jib sails in my garage come with the boat. I've never unfolded them. They feel stiff so they could be in new condition for all I know. One seems pretty small, the other about twice it's size, based on how they look folded up.
DECK/RIG/COCKPIT
Rig tuned and inspected by Evergreen Rigging in 2020. He said the rigging was in excellent shape.
Roller furler headstay in perfect working order.
Ray Marine helm auto pilot only a few years old. I have a brand new never used wheel and motor that come with the boat.
Magma rail mount bbq in perfect working order (newer burner and newer regulator)
All winches in great order and self-tailing. (one smaller winch on deck is not self-tailing)
Most of the rigging deck plates have been lifted, cleaned, and resealed

Original dodger is long gone. I sewed my own and cut a hard top and simply attached it to the original dodger frame. Just bolted down with U-Bolts so it's easily removable. Hard top could use another coat of protection

Butcher block table. Original table in excellent condition comes with boat
All cushions are there, with original table down it makes a big bed

Outlets run on either shore power or inverter, USB outlets are direct to battery with personal on/off switches and battery voltage gauges
Starboard side game table folds up or down based on desire. I preferred it down so that it can be used as a couch.
All the colored pillows in seating areas come with the boat
