It is one of those features that seems obvious once you've had it-and is surprisingly hard to find on a traditional motor yacht.
Second: two legitimate staterooms, each with its own ensuite head and separate enclosed shower. That makes the 430 exceptionally functional for couples traveling together, family weekends, or anyone considering extended stays aboard.
This particular 430 has another major advantage: it has spent its life in freshwater, on the Tennessee River and Lake Lanier. Powered by twin Crusader 502XL direct-drives, it offers the straightforward big-block gas powertrain these boats were designed around, along with a generator and dual-zone climate control.
The salon is genuinely spacious, with excellent natural light, plenty of seating for dining or relaxing, and enough separation between the forward and aft accommodations to give everyone some privacy. The full galley feels much more residential than you'd expect aboard a boat this size, including a full-size refrigerator/freezer and an actual oven.
And then there's my favorite unnecessarily wonderful Carver detail: a little remote knob at the galley sink that operates the drain stopper. Why this isn't already standard equipment in my house, I don't know.
