2004 Carver 360 Sport Sedan - $121,900
Twin MerCruiser 8.1L Horizons | Kohler 7.3kW Generator | Freshwater | Exceptionally Clean
There are plenty of older cruisers on the market. Finding one that has actually been cared for is a different story.
This 2004 Carver 360 Sport Sedan is a particularly nice ALL freshwater example that spends its life here on Lake Lanier and under cover. The condition shows immediately in the shine of the gelcoat, clean bridge and cockpit, beautiful interior cabinetry and overall presentation-but what impressed us just as much is what we found when we started opening hatches.
This isn't a 22-year-old boat that was suddenly cleaned up because it was time to sell. The machinery spaces are honest and orderly, service has been maintained, and you can see evidence of continued updating of the supporting systems over the years. That's exactly what we like to find when we're looking at a cruiser of this age.
Power comes from twin MerCruiser 8.1L Horizon inboards with approximately 817 hours. That's 750 horsepower worth of big-block power in a straightforward twin-inboard package that's well suited to this boat. At less than 40 hours per year on average, she's been enjoyed without accumulating excessive hours.
A Kohler 7.3E generator with approximately 1,337 hours handles power away from the dock, and both onboard air-conditioning systems are currently blowing cold.
A LOT of boat in 36 feet
The 360 Sport Sedan was one of Carver's clever designs because it combines the outdoor usability of a sedan-style cruiser with the interior volume and accommodations you'd normally associate with a considerably larger motor yacht.
The cockpit is large and open, with an oversized swim platform and attractive synthetic-teak-style decking extending through the cockpit and molded steps. Wide molded stairways on both sides lead to the flybridge-no ladder climbing required.
Up top, the enclosed bridge provides excellent visibility from the helm along with substantial companion seating. The helm is equipped with Raymarine electronics including radar/chartplotter, VHF, remote spotlight, windlass controls and a full complement of instrumentation.
Step through the sliding salon doors and the amount of interior space becomes apparent. Carver made excellent use of the 13'+ beam, with a bright salon surrounded by windows, beautiful cherry cabinetry, a full galley and raised forward dinette/lounge.
And this isn't simply a big open cabin. You get two genuinely private staterooms.
The forward master features an island-style berth surrounded by cabinetry and storage, while the second private stateroom provides another dedicated sleeping space for family or guests. The full head includes something we especially appreciate on a cruiser intended for extended stays: a separate enclosed shower.
The galley provides the appliances, countertop space and storage needed for weekends-or considerably longer-aboard.
The mechanical side matters -
One of the better signs on this boat is underneath the surface.
The engine compartment and lazarette haven't been freshly painted or artificially dressed for photographs. There's normal dust and evidence of age, but underneath it is a surprisingly orderly machinery space. Strainers appear clean, batteries are properly secured, and several supporting components-including portions of the freshwater system-appear to have been updated during the boat's life.
We'd rather see that than a freshly pressure-washed engine room that tells you nothing about how a boat has actually been maintained.
The bottom was painted approximately three years ago, and regular mechanical service has been maintained.
Upgraded audio
The original sound system has also been upgraded over the years with JL Audio subwoofers and Alpine marine speakers located throughout the boat, giving the Carver a substantially better audio system than she left the factory with.

At $121,900, this isn't intended to be the cheapest Carver 360 Sport Sedan on the market-and once you see her, we don't think it should be.
Condition matters tremendously when buying a cruiser in this age range. A cheaper boat that needs canvas, upholstery, gelcoat work, mechanical sorting, air-conditioning repairs and deferred maintenance can erase the purchase-price difference surprisingly quickly.
This is one we'd encourage a serious 360 Sport Sedan buyer to come see in person.

Carver Yachts 360 Sport Sedan: BoatTEST Review
Overview
The Carver 360 Sport Sedan represents a step up from the typical express cruiser, offering a blend of luxury and versatility within a 36-foot package. As the entry-level model in Carver's sedan series, it was developed in response to customer demand for a smaller yet fully featured yacht. This model combines contemporary styling with a comprehensive list of amenities, providing a yacht experience that rivals larger vessels.
Exterior Design and Deck Layout
The 360 Sport Sedan features a sporty exterior with a three-foot integral swim platform equipped with a built-in three-rung stainless steel swim ladder for easy water access. The six-foot cockpit offers ample space for deck chairs and patio furniture, enhancing outdoor comfort. Carver’s signature molded-in steps provide safe and convenient access to both side decks. Beneath the cockpit, a snap-in carpet conceals a lazarette that houses essential components such as running gear, rudder posts, the generator, main engine seawater strainers, and other critical systems, all color-coded for ease of maintenance. Ascending molded steps leads to the flybridge, where the helm station is ergonomically designed with tilt steering, single-lever controls, clustered gauges, and full Raymarine electronics, all accessible from a centered captain’s swivel chair. The foredeck is secured by stainless steel rails and features a recessed anchor, contributing to the yacht’s streamlined profile.
Interior Living Spaces
Inside, the 360 Sport Sedan offers a spacious and thoughtfully designed living area inspired by Carver’s larger 530 and 570 motor yachts. The companionway is protected by a fiberglass hardtop, enhancing comfort and usability. The interior includes an L-shaped galley to port, equipped with a stainless steel sink, two-burner electric stove, microwave, coffee maker, refrigerator, TV-DVD combo, and ample storage drawers. Adjacent to the galley is a raised dining area with large windows providing panoramic views. Opposite the galley, the starboard side features a removable leather ottoman with storage and a loveseat with recliner, offering additional seating options. Engine access is notably convenient, with a single centerline panel allowing direct entry to routine check points and fluid fills without the need to move furniture, complemented by snap-in carpeting along the walkway steps.
Private Accommodations
The forward section of the yacht houses the owner’s stateroom, which includes a centerline island berth elevated by three steps and flanked by three cabinets on each side for storage. To starboard, a hanging locker provides deep storage capacity. The guest cabin, located beneath the raised dinette, contains two single berths with storage beneath and large, lighted lockers on the starboard side, ensuring ample space for guests’ belongings.
Power and Performance
The Carver 360 Sport Sedan measures 37 feet 8 inches in length with a beam of 13 feet 2 inches and a dry weight of 24,746 pounds. It carries a fuel capacity of 280 gallons, supporting extended time on the water. Powered by twin 385 horsepower Captain’s Choice MPI engines, the yacht achieved a top speed of 35.4 miles per hour at 4,400 RPM during testing. A more economical cruising speed of 29 miles per hour at 3,500 RPM yields a fuel efficiency of 0.71 miles per gallon and a cruising range of approximately 185 miles.
Conclusion
With its two forward cabins, flexible interior layout, and spacious accommodations, the Carver 360 Sport Sedan offers a yacht experience that transcends the typical express cruiser category. Its combination of thoughtful design, comfortable living spaces, and solid performance make it a compelling option for those seeking a versatile and stylish yacht in a manageable size.
