NEWS FLASH: Talisman gets 2nd in Class at the IRC East Coast Championships
In the last race she finished 1st in class and 2nd in fleet out of 26 IRC boats.
Only beaten by a TP52, and beating many custom HPR designs!
A true testament to the all-around capabilities of this boat.
This is probably the finest Farr 395 in the world, with no expense spared in her maintenance and improvements, including a newly Awlgripped hull and deck, a newly re-cored hull from the waterline down with foam core by Brewer Pilots Point Marina, and a new VC offshore racing-faired bottom. The hull is in excellent shape, with improved stiffness and weighing almost 400 pounds lighter than her sisterships. Other improvements include new 2015 running rigging and tackle, a new and more powerful 2015 electrical generator, 2013 Gori folding race propeller, new 2015 LED interior lighting and masthead tri-color.
The North racing inventory is excellent, with a brand new 2015 never used 3Di raw (i.e. black) mainsail, 2015 3Di raw (black) light medium #1 jib, excellent medium heavy #2 jib, 2015 new 3Di #3 jib, 2015 new jib top, and twice used Code 0 on a furler. The asymmetrical spinnakers include A1, A2 and a twice-used A4.
Talisman has won or placed in many IRC and PHRF races in Western Long Island Sound and Newport, RI including a recent 2015 2nd in class in IRC 2 in the Storm Trysail Block Island Race, 2nd in the NYYC Annual Regatta Around the Island Race, 2nd in fleet in the Vineyard Race, 1st in class in American Spring Series, 1st in class in American Fall Series, and 1st in class Tuesday night Breakwater Irregulars.
This boat represents an excellent value for the serious IRC or PHRF sailor who is looking for a professionally maintained and turn-key sailing program suitable for friends and family that excels in both windward/leeward as well as distance races.
