The Farr 395 one-design is one of the most successful cruiser/racers of the last 20 years. They continue to win under almost any rating rule. With a large fractional rig, non-overlapping headsails and swept-back spreaders, the sail plan is easy to handle and tune for maximum performance.
Many yacht brokers will say "this is the best maintained xyz boat of all listed xyz boats". Well, I am extremely pleased to present what is not only the best maintained Farr 395 that I have ever seen, but also one of the best maintained used boats I have ever seen!
"ENDURANCE" truly is a time capsule in a most positive way. The owners have used this boat a lot and have won lots of regattas, but they have gone to obsessive lengths to keep the boat looking like new. The interior is like new, free of any noticeable scratches or water stains. Looking under the floorboards is like looking at a boat fresh out of the factory. The mast was just re-clear coated for the third time in the boat's life. Hatches and ports are free of crazing. The hull and deck are spotless. Even the chrome hinges and light surrounds are polished regularly. The engine looks super clean and when the owner had an oil analysis done, the tester commented on the extremely low wear on the engine parts and suggested that the owner just keep on doing what you are doing, it is working great.
So, if you are looking for a fantastic sailing boat in the 40' range that is at ease on the race course or taking your family for a two week cruise, then this is a boat you should consider. The non-overlapping headsails are not only favorable to rating rules like the IRC, but they make sailing the boat much easier than any overlapping headsail boat. Sailing the boat short handed is a breeze with the mainsheet located just forward of the wheel.

The Farr 395 is a really nice boat that is well worth considering. "ENDURANCE" is the stand-out boat among this class and just in general. I can't compliment the owners enough in their dedication to keeping this boat in spectacular condition! The owners have set an extremely high standard for the next owner to live up to, but since everything is in great shape, it is much easier than bringing a neglected boat back to proper standards.
