Step aboard this 1985 Camper & Nicholson 35, a classic British-built cruiser with the kind of reputation that made Camper & Nicholson one of the most respected names in offshore sailing. Built with a Lloyd's inspection, this is a yacht designed for passagemaking, with the traditional lines, solid construction, and balanced handling that continue to make these boats sought after today.
As you move forward along the wide side decks, you'll notice the confidence-inspiring layout that makes moving around underway feel secure. Below the waterline, the full keel and skeg-supported rudder provide the directional stability and forgiving handling that offshore sailors appreciate, while the skeg offers added protection to the rudder in rough conditions.
At the bow, the anchoring setup has been thoughtfully updated. The windlass was replaced in 2025 with a Lofrans Project 1000, paired with 100 feet of 5/16-inch chain, 100 feet of nylon rode, and an additional 250 feet of nylon rode stored in an anchor bag. A 20-kilogram Rocna anchor and a Danforth-style anchor provide options for different bottom conditions.
Looking up at the rig, she's equipped with a versatile sail inventory that gives you plenty of options for changing conditions. Included are Jasper & Bailly #2 and #3 genoas, a mainsail with two reef points, and a Doyle spinnaker. A storm jib and working jib are also stored onboard.
At the helm, the cockpit feels purpose-built for long days under sail. A working Neco below-deck autopilot handles the steering when you want a break, while the Monitor wind vane is onboard for true self-steering capability once serviced. Navigation is supported by a Raymarine chart plotter, depth sounder, radar, three VHF radios - including an ICom at the navigation station - and multiple compasses positioned throughout the boat. The B&G wind instruments are operational, although the masthead sender is currently seized.
Step below and you're welcomed into the warm, traditional interior that gives these classic cruisers their character. Teak accents, practical storage, and a layout designed for life aboard create a comfortable space whether you're spending a weekend at anchor or planning a longer voyage.
The galley is ready for cruising with a Sea Swing propane cooker, a single-burner alcohol stove, and a 120-volt induction plate. Refrigeration was replaced in 2026 with a Nova Kool system, making life aboard more comfortable when provisioning for extended trips.
The head compartment has also been updated, with the marine head, holding tank, and macerator pump replaced in 2026. The system includes overboard discharge where permitted and a 13-gallon holding tank.
Throughout the cabin, thoughtful details add comfort and practicality. The dodger cover, mainsail cover, and hatch covers were replaced in 2026, while overhead hatch netting and three interchangeable hatch boards -including a locking solid board, a screened teak board, and an acrylic board - let you tailor ventilation and security to the conditions.
Power comes from an engine that received extensive service in 2025. The fuel tanks and lines were cleaned, injectors serviced, the lift pump was replaced, and the engine passed a compression test on all cylinders.
With her proven Camper & Nicholson pedigree, full keel with skeg-supported rudder, extensive cruising equipment, and important systems already replaced, this Nicholson 35 is a classic offshore cruiser that offers the timeless feel of traditional yacht building while remaining well equipped for her next adventure.

Best Bluewater boat design for her size. Clean, lots of upgrades. Ready to take you anywhere, worldwide.
Condition detail
No major dents or damage to the exterior hull visible while in the water. Upon stepping aboard, the deck appeared to be in good condition, with a clean, well-maintained appearance. The wood in the cockpit seating area also looked to be in great shape. The main cosmetic issue noted topside was peeling paint on the steering pedestal, which would benefit from repainting. The autopilot lines appeared to be in good condition.
Below deck, the woodwork was clean and had a nice, glossy finish throughout. The furniture and cushions appeared to be in excellent condition, and the forward stateroom was clean, bright, and well kept.
Overall, the boat presented very. No significant cosmetic issues were noted.
