"Meanwhile"s condition is superb and she is well equipped. She has been kept in a covered slip for the past year and features, a pampered, low hour, Volvo diesel, 1500 watt inverter, 16,000 BTU's of A/C, new 3.5 KW Generator 100 hrs, new electronics package, custom trim tabs, spotless interior, bilge and engine room, etc., she is cruise ready and turn key. "Meanwhile"s original owner was an engineer who had the vessel built, monitored the build and made numerous sensible upgrades to her. This boat is featured in the September 2005 MOTORBOATING article "Bahama Bound"!
With her single diesel and large bow thruster, she is easy to maneuver and stingy of fuel. At 7 knots she consumes about 1.5 GPH and at 14 knots about 6 GPH.
The unique "keelform" hull will sip fuel and cruise comfortably at a 7 knot displacement speed or reach speeds of 16 knots plus at wide open throttle. Not only does the substantial keel provide full protection for the four bladed prop, it gives the boat the feel of running on rails at all speeds.
Docking is a breeze with the large rudder and bow thruster- no more panic leaps to the dock!
The Camanos are known for very high quality glass work,(Solid hand laid glass below the waterline and cored with Corecell above the waterline), electro polished stainless steel fittings and no exterior brightwork. The interior joinery is expertly crafted and finished to yacht standards.
"Meanwhile" is truly one of the best designed and best built pocket cruisers you will find. So if you are looking for a well equipped, clean boat, turn key and ready to cruise, this one's for you. She is kept with an "open check book policy" Owners are moving out of boating.

Confessions of Camano 31 Owners on the Great Loop
"After the long search for a Great Loop boat that would not drain the bank account, not hit bottom during low tides, is fast enough to beat out a storm or make a bridge opening, the Camano 31 was the chosen one. The selection proved right on as we made some bridges that would have closed for an hour or get under them with our 12 foot height (bimini down), cruised through some low tide areas that our 3.3 inch draft could handle, beat out a storm on Lake Michigan that we didn't want to get caught in, and actually enjoyed the ride up the New Jersey Coast as this trawler could cruise at 12 knots which keeps the stern ahead of the 2-4 foot waves. The 12,000lb Camano proved easy to handle in locks and was fully equipped with generator, autopilot, and fly bridge as we wanted nothing to block the nature shots. The fly bridge also provided enough space for six to party after day's cruise and we really enjoyed the fuel consumption of 1,945 diesel gallons on our trip doing the Lake Erie Route. Also, our fear of having enough fuel between Hoppies and Green Turtle Bay were unfounded as we only consumed 67 gallons of fuel".
Following Captain Bob's advice -The Camano 31 proved to be for us the "smallest boat we could feel comfortable on."
