Indigo was purchased by the current owners with only 8 hours on the boat in 2018. The previous owner purchased the boat new and prepared the boat for the Great Loop, but health issues forced the sale.
The current owners have continuously upgraded and maintained the boat to the highest level, and they Recently Completed the Great Loop last year, during which the boat performed flawlessly! Indigo is now a Great Loop Veteran and with her Recent Engine, Generator, and Transmission Services she is ready to do it again and in Top Service Condition!!
Indigo is very well equipped, just a few of the highlights are the Bow and Stern Thrusters, Reliable Low Hour Twin Volvo D4 Diesel Engines, Cummins Onan Generator, Top of the Line Electronics, Star Link Satellite Internet, and also a Dinghy Butler Davit System to hoist a dinghy completely out of the water even when running, providing the ability to not have to store it on the fly bridge at all times thus opening up the flybridge deck for more entertaining space. The hull is also painted with Awl Grip, not the standard gelcoat.
A Full Service to the Generator and Engines and Transmissions including the charge air coolers, heat exchangers, turbos, belts, fluids, impellors, coolant, and zincs was just Completed 3-10-2024 and records are available along with oil samples. Excellent service records and oil sampling has been kept through the ownership of the boat. A Recent Survey is also Available Upon Request.

Measuring 45 feet 6 inches in length overall with a beam of 13 feet 11 inches and a shallow draft of 3 feet 5 inches, the Swift 44 offers a manageable size for cruising. The vessel's empty weight is just over 24,000 pounds, and with full fuel and three persons aboard, the test weight reached 26,752 pounds.
Exterior Design and Operational Layout
Boarding the Swift 44 is facilitated either via a walkthrough from the swim platform or through a door located on the starboard bulwarks. The boat features an asymmetrical deck layout, with the starboard side deck being wider than the port side. Optional teak decking enhances the exterior, while the teak cap rail and pulpit provide low-maintenance wooden accents. Safety is ensured by bow rails measuring 29.5 inches high and 1.5 inches thick. The most efficient cruising speed was estimated at 22.6 knots at 3250 rpm, burning 22.5 gallons per hour, equating to one nautical mile per gallon. The Swift 44 accelerated to plane in 6.3 seconds and reached 20 miles per hour in 8.5 seconds, with a modest bow rise of 10 degrees. A drop-down step at the helm improved sight lines during acceleration. Once on plane, the boat settled into a 5-degree bow-high attitude. Docking was facilitated by excellent side visibility through the helm door and precise control using differential engine thrust, often eliminating the need for the bow thruster until final mooring. The design enables single-handed operation, a key feature for cruising couples.
