Pros
Performance-Oriented Design: The First 375 was designed with a focus on sailing performance, featuring a sleek hull and efficient sail plan that make it responsive and enjoyable to sail.
Spacious Interior: For a 37-foot boat, it provides a roomy and well-laid-out interior, including comfortable sleeping accommodations, a functional galley, and ample storage.
Solid Construction: Built by Beneteau, the First 375 benefits from quality craftsmanship and durable materials, ensuring longevity and reliability.
Versatile Use: Suitable for both coastal cruising and club racing, offering flexibility depending on your sailing preferences.
Good Handling: The boat’s balanced design and manageable sail area make it accessible for a small crew or even single-handed sailing with some experience.
Cons
Aging Systems: Being a 1986 model, some onboard systems (electrical, plumbing, engine) may be outdated or require maintenance and upgrades.
Limited Headroom: While spacious for its size, the interior headroom may feel a bit restricted compared to more modern designs.
Deck Layout: Some sailors find the deck layout less ergonomic than newer models, potentially making sail handling more challenging during races.
Maintenance Needs: Older fiberglass and wood components might need attention, especially if the boat has been exposed to harsh conditions or not regularly maintained.
Performance Compared to Modern Designs: Though still capable, the First 375 may not match the speed and ease of handling of more contemporary cruiser-racers with updated hull and rig designs.
