For those of you not familiar with the Bavaria line of boats, this is one fine boat. The craftsmanship on this boat is impeccable. The joinery meticulous and the fiberglass work superbly finished. "Celeris" is a very comfortable cruising boat with a performance bonus. She will outsail many in her class.
This was boat number 84 which was a model that has had many updates from the earlier 50. She has the three cabin three head layout. There are dockside hookups for the 110 volt circuits and separate house with a 3000 watt inverter and starting batteries on the 12 volt side. There is a large capacity 12-volt refrigerator and propane stove with oven in the galley. The owner's cabin in the forepeak is huge and has a queen sized berth with private head and a separate stall shower. The interior cabinetry woodwork is richly appointed. The seating and the storage below is very well thought out.
This boat has twin steering stations. The cockpit sole and seats are covered with beautiful teak decking. It has Kevlar reinforced bow sections and a swim platform and re-boarding ladder. The Volvo-Perkins TAMD-22/105hp motor is shaft driven and will push her along at 7-knots easily while under power. She is equipped with a SP-75 Bow Thruster for those tight spots. Under sail you have a lot at your disposal to get the most out of her. It has a double spreader fractional spar with in-mast furling mainsail and rigid vang, an adjustable backstay 130% roller furling Genoa, Furlex system, 2 Harkin self-tailing electric primary Genoa winches, and harken self-tailing secondary winches. The custom dodger will keep you protected on those nasty days.
When the day is done you can drop anchor in your favorite cove with the electric windlass with the push of a button. This will set the 27kg Bavaria plough anchor and send out as much of the 185 feet of chain that you need. The secondary or backup anchor is a 44lb Bruce anchor with 20 feet of chain and 250ft of rode all rolling off a second bow roller.
All in all this is one fine boat. It was originally delivered and commissioned in Westbrook, CT. It has been maintained to the hilt and ready for your inspection.
If you are in the market for this range of boat you owe it to yourself to check her out!
