Accommodations

The first impression of the American Tug is the quality of the interior. As you step into Big Red from the aft cockpit into the salon you are immediately surrounded by beautiful joinery work made from Jatoba wood. The textures of carpet and Ultra Leather are warm and inviting. These boats feel right.

The salon features large windows which flood the interior with light. You can see forward past the galley to the raised pilothouse, it is this open feel that makes the interior great for entertaining. An L-shape settee is on starboard, and on the port side is a single barrel chair w/ storable ottoman that can be moved around the salon as needed.

The galley is forward and on the port side. Entertainment center with a 26" flat screen television is on starboard.

Up a few steps to the raised pilothouse. American Tug makes full use of the large "stack", the defining feature of a tug boat, and provides ample headroom above these stairs. A beautiful Jatoba wood insert inlaid with compass rose forms the ceiling inside this stack. The pilothouse is large, open and provides full 360-degree sightlines. The console is full size and houses three Garmin 8600 multi function  displays. There are sliding doors on both the port & starboard sides. The port side of the pilothouse has additional seating for 3. On starboard is an additional fridge/freezer and a dedicated hanging locker. A double Bentleys helm chair is on centerline.

Forward is the guest stateroom with a queen pull man berth and an additional upper bunk which is perfect for the extra fisherman or your guests duffel bags. The guest stateroom has a private head with full shower.

The master stateroom is down a few steps and features a walk-around queen berth, a very large private head & shower and nine full suspension drawers plus a cedar lined hanging locker.

All the spaces are heated with an Espar diesel furnace, ducted throughout the boat. There are three additional 110-volt heaters all independently controlled for keeping her warm on the dock or in the off-season as well as an OceanAire reverse cycle unit in the master cabin and Pilothouse.

The joinerwork is a warm toned Jatoba wood. Carpet is a commercial Shaw in Cinnibar. The upholstery is Brick colored Ultraleather.
