Don't let the age fool you. This large 31' cruiser is perfect for the whole family to get out and day sail or cruise to distant shores in safety and confidence.
Beautiful and spacious, a tri-Cabin, well-maintained with enhanced additions wherever possible. Originally Tom Allmand's personalized boat. It has aesthetic touches and upgrades not seen in any but the most expensive yachts. New, professional survey, commissioned in October 2015, surveyor stated it was more like a 10year old than a 30 yr. old boat. The spacious interior (width at WL is 8'6", comparable to a 40' yacht) is virtually all solid teak, including 6-panel doors between the 3 private cabins, beautiful teak parquet floor throughout, teak side paneling, shelves, bulkheads and cabinets give it a warm inviting ambience. The exterior has a roomy, T-shaped cockpit w. Edson SS wheel and teak table w/folding leafs for gracious cockpit dinning (both have new covers). Can be comfortably sailed in wet weather with Dodger and attached Bimini. At anchor, vinyl + mosquito netting side curtains attach to make cockpit into enclosed living space. At anchor either a 35lb CQR plow or 22lb Danforth, anchoring is safe and the new Lewmar anchor windless makes it easy. It has been maintained with twice yearly waxing, shrink-wrapped in winter, all woodwork oiled, bottom painting, non-skid repainted and reupholstered cockpit and interior cushions. All lines can be lead to cockpit and controlled with 7 winches, two of which are 2 speed self-tailing, making it possible to single hand. The engine is a Yanmar 3GM 27hp engine rebuilt in 2009 (about 40Hr use) is almost twice as powerful as original engine. Surveyor states hull and deck are solid and dry, and rigging is un-frayed and in excellent condition. Much of the equipment updated or replaced.
The owner bought this boat in 1991 for family cruising, because of its spaciousness, comfort and safety. They've comfortable roomed with 3 children and all the provisions necessary to keep everyone happy, with a week's + supply of provisions. They've safely sailed, albeit unintentionally, in 50 kt. gales. As a tri-cabin, it can comfortably sleep seven, two in each bed (lengths 7'- 6'4"). Each cabin can be completely closed off and has its own screened hatch. Seven opening screened ports & large Plexiglas window along with four hanging lockers. The galley has a propane stove, oven, refrigerator/freezer, lockers and cabinets for storage.
