The President 42 Trawler offers buyers a mix of classic styling, practical accommodations and good build quality. President is one of Taiwan's most experienced builders so it comes as no surprise to find that the 42 is a well-finished boat. Built on a sea kindly semi-displacement hull with a relatively wide beam, the interior of the President 42 is notable for its large salon windows and lavish use of hand-rubbed cherry cabinetry. The two-stateroom layout is typical of a trawler this size. Both the guest and owner's staterooms have queen-sized berths, full standing enclosed showers (no wet heads) and electric toilets. The galley-forward and to port in the salon-features a full-length Corian counter, a double stainless-steel sink and generous Norcold ac/dc refrigeration. A removable hatch in the salon sole provides access to a surprisingly spacious engine room with workbench and storage drawers. In the aft port corner of the master stateroom is a unique door to the aft deck that doubles as the exterior steps from the aft deck to the flybridge. Note that the integral swim platform is an extension of the hull and not simply bolted on.
(March 2026 to July 2026)
Cummins diesels serviced to include new water pump impellers, racor fuel filters changed, oil and oil filter changed, pencil zincs changed, coolant changed, raw water strainers removed, cleaned, new threaded rods installed, 1.5 inch hose and clamped installed and cap o rings. Port engine exhaust hose replaced.
Genset serviced to include new impeller, oil change, racor changed, ball valve "T" installed for fresh water flush access, priming pump added to allow ease of maintenance for cleaning strainer, new inline fuel filters, new pencil zincs and coolant changed.
Three (3) March Air Conditioning raw water pumps disassembled and rebuilt for 3 separate AC units. Raw water strainers for all 3 AC units disassembled, descaled, cleaned, rebuilt, hoses replaced seacock to pumps, ball valve, "T" installed 3 AC units, Aft and Salon AC units descaled. New forward AC unit in forward berth.
Forward cabin electric toilet rebuilt, serviced, rear cabin toilet electric pump replaced as well as unit rebuilt and serviced.
High Tide Marine provides monthly bottom cleaning service. Hull described in good condition, bottom paint in good condition, zincs and running gear in good condition.
