Here is the part most buyers do not know.

Shopping a 510 Fly usually means choosing: the Zeus pod boats for joystick docking, or the V-drive boats for a conventional drivetrain. Nearly every buyer at this size wants both and is told to pick one.

This boat is both: Conventional shafts, struts and rudders - the drivetrain every competent diesel yard and every surveyor knows cold, with no pod-specific gearcase, seal or underwater-strike exposure to underwrite and no drive-specific service network you have to stay near. And bow and stern thrusters under joystick control, so she walks sideways into a slip like the pod boats do, with a 360° camera view while you do it.

For an owner who intends to actually use the boat in the Keys, the Bahamas and the Caribbean - where the nearest yard is rarely the factory-trained one - that combination is the whole argument. You get the running gear that can be fixed anywhere, and none of the handling penalty that normally comes with it.

Then there are the hours. Eight hundred on a 2014 boat, with documented service and an upgraded 17 kW genset that has carried the air conditioning at anchor rather than the engines carrying the miles.

THE BOAT:

She does not look like a production American flybridge. Sleek lines, smoked acrylic hull windows, arctic white gel coat over a high-performance vinylester laminate - take the badge off and most people guess Italian.

Enter through the three-pane multi-opening glass door into a salon with opposing sofas, a folding wood table and an entertainment center. Walnut cabinetry throughout, and wood floors throughout - with dark carpet runners laid down to protect them, which tells you most of what you need to know about how she has been kept. The galley sits up two steps, open to the salon but out of it: solid-surface counters, a stainless freezer with icemaker, a dual-voltage stainless refrigerator, two-burner stove, microwave-convection and a proper pantry.

The lower helm to starboard carries a single Stidd captain's chair, an opening side window, a defroster and wipers - the details that tell you a builder was thinking about the person driving in weather. Both helms carry the full package: Raymarine plotter's and GPS, autopilot, radar, depth, VHF, compass and joystick.

Below are three staterooms and two heads. The full-beam master has hull windows, port and starboard dressers, a cedar-lined mirrored hanging locker and a flat-screen with DVD. The VIP forward has a queen and its own private door into the forward head and shower. The third cabin takes convertible twins with a cedar-lined locker and drawer storage. The staterooms are carpeted in the dark scheme; both heads are VacuFlush with solid-surface vanities, Grohe shower wands and acrylic doors.

The flybridge is enormous for a boat this size - convertible seating with storage below, two helm seats, a sunpad, a teak aft table, a 120V refrigerator, a venturi windshield, a radar arch and a ship's bell - canvas and covers in black. Aft, a transom door, boarding steps, cockpit shower, an aft bench and a lazarette dedicated to lines and fenders.

Four feet two inches of draft and 500 gallons of fuel - the combination that decides where a boat this size can actually go. Bottom paint was done recently.

Exterior Design and Flybridge

The flybridge is a standout feature of the 510 Fly, embodying a large European-style layout that prioritizes socializing and comfort. Positioned behind the upper helm is the yacht's premier seating area, capable of accommodating a crowd for sightseeing, casual dining, or cocktails around a custom table.
