Brokers Comments:
This classic Ed Monk, Sr. designed trawler is still found today in exceptional condition after 53 years of service.
The look and layout is traditional in an aft cabin pilothouse design featuring private forward and aft sleeping cabins. The boat is designed for stable and economical cruising with a single Ford Lehman 120 HP diesel driving a large, four-bladed propeller. These engines typically consume about 2 GPH at cruising speed.
In addition, a Side-Power stern thruster provides for close in control and maneuverability.
The open pilothouse amidship has excellent visibility and access to the side decks. The basic aft cabin sleeps two and includes two huge hanging lockers. The forward salon and galley makes for a comfortable space and the boat is heated throughout using a diesel forced-air furnace. There is 6' 2" headroom throughout the interior. The forward sleeps two in a v-berth with filler insert. In addition, the salon table lowers to convert the U-shaped dinette into a double berth.
A marine head compartment with electric toilet features a classic sink. There is ample ventilation and light throughout with a number of opening ports and hatches.
For electrical service away from the dock, a large house battery bank and Victron 3000 Watt Inverter are aboard.
These Roughwater built boats are well regarded among trawler fans and finding one in such outstanding condition makes this boat a rare find today.
